CAN IT GET ANY WORSE?! Yes... Yes it can!

It was one of those days that you start off wishing you could just stay in bed and sleep and skip the next couple of days because you KNOW they will be hellish. My car blew up the night before. The coolant emptied and I drove it while it was overheated. So it didn’t technically blow up like an…

5 Minute Face for Busy Mamas

http://www.thepiggytoes.com/2013/04/03/5-minute-face/

Almost every day, I run into a busy mama friend and the first thing she says to me is, “Don’t look at me, I didn’t have time to put makeup on today!”  Trust me, I’ve had my days too.  After some time though, it got me thinking.  How long does it really take us to put makeup on?  Is it that time consuming…

Happy Mother's Day by Silverbird Family

www.HappyMothersDayIsEveryday.com is a youtube video that can be given to any mom. The message says, "I love you mommy" from any child.

People would not exist if it were not for Mother. Even I did not understand why my Mother made such a fuss over me when I was child, but now that I have children of my own, I certainly understand what my Mother went through with me.

This is a wonderful fun calypso reggae style song and once…

I'LL BE THERE: What Lesson Should Be Learned From The Life & Death of Michael Jackson?

As we watch Michael Jackson’s family walk into the courthouse during the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, we are again reminded that our hopes and dreams are often wrapped up in our children…all they will do and all they will achieve.  How proud we’ll be.  The problem is that we’ve gotten so wrapped up in the infinite “checklist” of what they are doing, or should be doing, that we don’t really know HOW they are doing today, let alone who they’ll be and what they’ll be doing tomorrow. “My kids are…

How to Say 'I Love You Mom' - Mother's Day Gift Guide

How do you thank a mother for all that she does for you throughout the year? Whether your children make something at school for you (which mine do) or spend time with you (which I am thankful my teenage son does, at least one day a year), these gift ideas would show any mother just how much they are loved and appreciated.…

Drama mama....

As a mom of two girls, I often wonder what drama their teenage years will bring. What will our relationships be like and how do I avoid the pitfalls that my own mother and I have experienced? The recent visit from my own mother made me stop, reflect and realize what an evolving and ever changing relationship mothers and daughters go through.…

Dressed Down Day? OK!

I am a full believer that how you present yourself physically is a

reflection of who you are and how you feel about yourself. I dress the

way I dress and I apply my make up because it makes me feel good. I also

dressed the way I dressed and applied my make up because I thought that

was what Kevin liked, too. I do ultimately dress myself FOR myself but I

have to say I do like dressing for my man, too. There is no man on this

planet that I care about looking good for… Continue

Mama Friendships – Are Yours At Risk?

Maintaining friendships when you are a mama can be a tricky business. Often already juggling a hectic home life, work and children, while also trying to carve out a bit of time with Daddy-o, can leave little room for your girlfriends.

The way I see it, there are a few friendship fizzling high risk situations:

1) You become a mama: Many report that their friendships with single/childless girlfriends suffer. Mama feels…

My celeb obsession and an invite to join my entourage: find out about the things I like based on the Fan Sites I've built

So I've been building these Fan Sites on a site called Fantourage. It's a site that shows much promise - it's fun because it combines my geeky-tech skills with my passion for certain celebs/bands/chefs/tv shows and a competition (to win points). You'll see - it'll all become clear in the next paragraphs. If you are reading this now then I've caught your interest. I do hope you can click on the site links for the things YOU are a fan of.… Continue

The Spa Who Loved Me

Eons ago I had my first spa experience in the Philippines. It was a place called The Palm Garden and it was at the penthouse of the building I worked at — I worked a few floors down for what was then a start-up magazine (now one of the established fashion magazines in the Philippines). It was all very Devil Wears Prada – so you can imagine my excitement when they needed someone to write about a spa.

Since I was just a lowly fashion assistant, I grabbed the opportunity to prove my… Continue

Remembering Labor One Year Later...

The other day, a woman at work mentioned that she was terrified to one day find herself in labor. Without skipping a beat, I replied, "Women are so overly dramatic about it. It's not that bad."

Yes, I said that. Really. And at the time, I meant it. As soon as it left my mouth, however, a little voice inside of my head -- the Memory Keeper, perhaps -- laughed.

The first half of my statement I stand by. Hollywood paints labor as a gory, blood-curdling nightmare where women… Continue
