Please believe the hype – forty truly is fabulous. I can’t say what it is like for all forty years old women. But for me (and most of my friends) - It’s an age where my children are out of the baby stage, my career is getting into a grove, my marriage is fun and comfortable. I have made peace with my stretch marks and I have finally forgiven my children for my saggy boobs. In fact, now that I have a great bra - I have really have started to appreciate my body.
Basically life is pretty…Continue

After getting the kiddos situation in the kitchen with an art project this morning I set off for the family room to fold clothes. Exciting I know! While folding I turned on the TV and quickly found myself being pulled into a talk show. The topic was unconventional marriages. The host was interviewing a traditional Orthodox Jewish marriage. First I found it ironic that the topic was unconventional marriages and the couple was in a traditional marriage. My second thought was, when…Continue

You can find serenity in building a love that stands the tests of time, in-laws and children. When you find that serenity, you will also find peace, comfort and strength.
Over the years, my husband has said some incredible things to me:

Although the 2013 Academy Awards are history, one gem - Amour - will continue to shine. This heartbreaking and unflinching movie was painful to watch but it stimulated conversations with more questions than answers.
As the people we love decline, how do we deal with the inevitable suffering?
Austrian filmmaker Michael Haneke tackled this subject and won the 2013 Academy Award for best foreign language film. The leads, veteran French actors Jean-Louis…Continue

Valentine’s Day is by far one of my favorite ‘holidays’ but I’m honestly not sure why. It could be because of all the $1 crap I get our 2 little boys that excites them beyond words. Or maybe it’s the excessive eating of chocolate all day that makes my tummy happy. Or maybe it’s that I get to turn everything…Continue

We all remember the good ol' days....Where everything was perfect, he was perfect. We felt adored, lovely, holding hands and kissing weren't even a question.....
What happens when the good ol' days are gone? When nothing goes right, when neither of you are perfect is a reality, loveliness is exchanged for pjs, and affection is not what it used to be?
In the beginning we tell everyone ~ "we're in love!" Time goes on, life happens, choices are made and before you know it…Continue

As a couple with a family of lil ones, it is often difficult to find time, energy, and even desire to have alone time together, as a couple.
Hubby's are often tired from a long day of work. They come home spend time being daddy until the kiddos bedtime, and he collapses, thankful for the quiet, remote and bedtime.
Wives are exhausted from a long day at work (away from home or stay at home, both qualify). Making dinner, doing dishes, bath time, reading/cuddle time....all this…Continue

Our life together has not been a piece of cake, no storybook romance/fairy tale. We've had a lot of rocky roads. Throughout our six, almost seven years of marriage, we have had many prayer warriors. It is by God's grace, and through our faithful prayer warriors that we are together today.
There was a time where we lived "separate" lives, strangers living under the same roof. No relationship building, no time together. He lived his life, the children and I lived ours.

If I'm the self-proclaimed Queen of Attracting Stupid Situations, then my husband is without a doubt the King of Attracting Stupid Situations. (Not sure what that says about us being attracted to each other, but anyway.....) I swear, between the two of us, we are an accident waiting to happen at any given moment. The latest case in point? This past weekend when…Continue
