On the days I do not run, I have back pain. On the days I do run, I sometimes have back pain, but it seems like it is not as bad. My sweet husband helps rub my sore muscles for me, just as I rub his back when he needs it. He generally has tension in his lower back; mine is at the top.…Continue

t’s a cliché for a reason–life happens when you are busy making plans. I filmed this 33 weeks pregnancy vlog in a state of blissful ignorance, one day before my pre-term labor adventure began!
In the video, I talk about how I’m enjoying pregnancy but have so much to do that I wouldn’t mind if this baby stayed in a couple of months past the due date. Boy, was I mistaken!
The next morning, I was rushed to…Continue

My son is a big boy (or so he keeps telling me). But, when the pajamas are on and the bedtime books have been read, he still wants his snuggle time with Mommy. He curls his little body into mine, sticks his cold toes against me and tells me things that melt my heart ("You smell so good. Just like a Mommy." or "I can hear your heart beat and it is beautiful.")
So, yes, I…Continue

I have never, nor do I anticipate ever being, a touchy-feely kind of person. You know how some people will greet you with a hug, or a kiss or want to touch you when they talk to you? That is SO not me. In fact, those types of people make me really uncomfortable and want to run in the other direction.
It’s not that I’m not affectionate or anything. I still kiss my son (who is almost 14) on the forehead every night and I’m delighted that he wants to give me an occasional…Continue

** The silverware thief is at it again.
** It's hard to have an adult conversation when you see your kid making armpit farts out of the corner of your eye.
** Crying over spilled milk is totally justified when it's a mere millimeter from your laptop.
** If burping is the sign of a good meal, then snoring is surely the sign of a good…Continue

Recently, I was given a gift certificate to a ritzy spa for my thirtieth birthday. For the past two months, I’ve held on to that little card with its elaborate curlicues, both enthralled and petrified by the idea of using it. As with…

Yep, it’s @$#*%! Friday again…where DOES the time go??!! And even though you know that I know that you know that I know that right about here is where I’ll throw some lame ass excuse about how crazy busy my week has been, I’ll say it anyways, even though it goes without saying by now, because you know that I know that you know that I know that I am ALWAYS crazy busy…thus the name…Continue

I love spas. I love facials and massages and manicures and pedicures. I love the Zen feeling you get when you walk into a spa and are handed a cool glass of water with the floating lemon
slices. The calming harp music
always makes me more aware that I need less stress in my life and more

One area of dog wellness that holds priceless benefits to your pet is pet massage. Dogs especially often injure
themselves without anyone noticing it. A poor landing from a high jump, landing
on something that slightly knocks a dog off a solid proper landing, or a jerk of the leash can render your pet…

What a great day! (Except for the black ant invasion that greeted me this morning in the kitchen, ugh… Do you think 8 traps will do the trick, fast?) I got so much done, it’s beautiful outside, I had a massage . . .
