** If you take up two parking spaces, you shouldn't be surprised when you're door-dinged.
** Putting my husband in charge of homework supervision is like putting my kids in charge of homework supervision.…

I can hear myself now: "When I was little, television shows only came on during a certain time, so you had to make sure you were home in time to watch it. There was no way to pause the program either, so you had to time your bathroom breaks and snack runs during the commercials."…

I have found so many vintage things around the internet and thought I would start sharing them with you all. For starters. How we begin with a look back and some ads that leave you wondering...…

When I found out that I was pregnant with my third child, words couldn’t describe how excited I was after the initial shock wore off. It took us a while to become pregnant and though the timing might have been off slightly everything worked out. I was blessed with a beautiful, healthy little… Continue

That's what time it is right now and I'm as close to wide awake as I can get with less than an hour and a half of sleep.
I love the weather.
Love it! Walking in it. Sitting on a porch watching it. The scent of it. Everything about it!
As long as I don't have to go…

I mean, that's why they list them,…

I can only imagine that every member of my family just read the title and clicked on it so fast thinking I was writing a post about them! Slow your hearts down… I’m writing to all the mamas and friends who have written me over the course of this month. I’m at a stand-still right now with nothing to do. That’s right… NOTHING. It feels odd and I’m a little out of place. I have nothing to bake or cook, nothing to wrap, nothing to clean and only 1 basket of laundry to fold. SO I guess, as… Continue

Ah, it's the holiday season -- that magical time of the year when you wanna sip hot cocoa by the fire and shove people outta the way for a deal on a flat-screened t.v. Cause let's be real, y'all. December tends to turn the very best of us into giant assholes.
Every year I tell myself I'm not gonna get swept up into all the hoopla of running here, there and… Continue

After a trip with my husband I was looking for a way to keep our collection of rocks from the trip in view and seen. I wanted the memories to be right there everyday, in my sight. I made this great craft to help me do that: Memory Can

As much as I loathe winter weather, there truly is something magical about the first snow of the season. Those white flakes falling gracefully from the sky always bring an unexpected peacefulness in my otherwise chaotic world. And being able to share that special moment with my kids makes it all that more memorable for me.
We got our first snowy dusting just this… Continue

Hurricane Sandy left us cold and wet on Halloween. Normally we would hold Trunk or Treat in our church parking lot but the storm made us make some changes to our tradition. Because we have a large lobby and gym, our leader - Fred - decided we would be holding what… Continue

One of the best parts of being a mommy is being able to relive my favorite childhood moments AGAIN, only in the company of my daughter and husband.
Yesterday, after seemingly eons of hot days that have scorched our lawn grass into a bed of straw, the skies became super thick… Continue

My Memories and the Eiffel "Cow"er
As we wrapped up our trip to Paris, I found myself longing for some souvenir of my crazy adventure. I had been fantasizing about finding a quaint little boutique where I could buy some ridiculously expensive French hand lotion made out of rare… Continue

My family has always been cottage-goers. Growing up, a few relatives had cottages, but one in particular had very special memories, and always felt like home.
My Aunt and Uncle owned a small cottage on a quiet little bay. It wasn't anything extravagant, but I have some of the best memories of my childhood from up there. This cottage sat on a small cliff with about 50 stairs… Continue

If your photos are collecting dust and albums are turning yellow, then a digital scrapbook might just be your answer. If you’re getting married, have grand children, raising a young family OR, have important milestones in your life coming up … this will save you so much time and money.
I was approached by a company with an awesome offer for my Girlz Korner readers and just couldn’t pass it up after checking out their phenomenal software. You will be astounded as to its capabilities.… Continue

Are you alone and wondering how you'll be celebrating the holidays this year? Whether you're divorced or widowed, a single parent or the spouse of a deployed serviceperson, it most likely seemed easier when you had a partner to share in the planning. But now that you'll be the one creating the holiday mood, take advantage of the freedom you have to develop customs that are just right for you. …

It's been almost a year and a half since I became a stay at home mom. We've had to sacrifice a few things for us to be able to afford living on one income. In my opinion, it has all been worth it. Today for example, was one of those days. Continue

Okay, I'm been MIA from my blog. I hope it isn't a case of outta site outta mind with those of you and are following me. I have an excuse though, really. My family has been living out of our suitcases for the past month while we were taking a road trip to our new home. It was a long road trip with stops at both of our families. Continue

It's done! Everything in our home for the past three years has been packed away in boxes and they're ready for the movers on Monday. We've been planning this move for almost a year. It hasn't been smooth or easy or fun, instead this time has been one of the most stressful things I've had to go through in awhile. With the other moves it was only the two of us. I didn't have to think of pediatricians, playgroups, day cares, preschools, jobs with reasonable driving distances or any of… Continue

I finally have a moment to finish blogging about Izzy's bday. The party was themed after her favorite character, Dora a Explorer. We had Dora plates, napkins, table covers, a wall sized poster, party favors, and Dora episodes playing in the background. I am sure this won't be our only character themed party in the future but it was cute having one for the first time. One of Izzy's godparents, Cindy does professional baking on the side and she's made some amazing cakes and cupcakes. I was so… Continue
