Beer Money

I love my husband for many reasons, one particular reason being his interesting philosophy on life.

Take for example his theory about “walkabout” money.  Colby believes that besides having lipstick and a driver’s license in a purse, there also needs to be hard cold cash.  Not that he carries around a…

Extreme Couponing, Through Tatted Mom's Eyes

Let's start out with complete honesty. I saw the show. Okay, I was addicted to the show. People sticking it to the man by going into a grocery store and walking out with $1000 worth of groceries for $100. Completely amazing, and yes, something I wanted to do... badly. So, a few months ago, I gave it a whirl. Z spent her days on the computer (as I had to work), printing off coupons and finding deals of the week. In the few months I extreme couponed, did I walk away with $1000 in groceries for…

Back to School - BillMyParents Smart Spend Card

Finally a spend-smart credit card for teenagers! When my son was 16 years old, he had an opportunity to go England and train with the coach of the Manchester United soccer team. Chase (my son, not the bank) had a bank account but due to under-18 age status, he was restricted with his ATM debit-only card which he could not use as a credit card. So, we nervously gave him cash to take with him. I bought several travel type garments (socks, money belts) in which he could hide the money. Not a great… Continue

Coupon Clipping and Organic Shopping?

Before my son was a year of age we were really into making sure the foods he ate and at least a good portion of the foods I ate were organic, but slowly overtime when we had to put a crunch on our grocery budget I found that my coupon clipping and sale shopping helped stretch the food in the house, and to be honest I rarely buy an item unless it is onsale and I can also use a coupon with it. I have learned to save about 40% every time I go grocery shopping. But lets be honest, being a member of… Continue

The 10 Hidden Ways You May Be Blocking Your Prosperity

If you've been working at making the Law of Attraction work for you but are not getting desired results, you may be unknowingly devaluing yourself, thereby repelling the very conditions you intend to bring about. What you decide to be your "good" will not be attracted to what you believe is "not good". Like attracts like. In order to attract your "good", it is imperative that you have a strong sense of value for yourself. If you continue to struggle to deliberately… Continue

Sometimes Money CAN Buy You Happiness

When your kids are eerily quiet for any extended period of time, nine times out of ten it's because they're trying to burn your house down.  But every once in a blue moon, the stars all align, and the pip squeaks somehow actually manage to..... *gasp*..... play quite nicely together.  Sure, you might have to pay them for that momentary bit of peace and quiet, but we…

I will NOT support Casey Anthony

We are trying to reach a goal of 10,000 “fans” to just send the message to publishers and the media that we won’t endorse, in any way, the glorification nor the monetization of this horrific tragedy, and will not purchase any media (written, televised, or other..) in which Casey Anthony stands to make a profit from it’s sales and revenue.

Please visit our Facebook page and share with as many friends as you can. Thank you.…

Mommy On A Budget: Lotus ORGANIC Cosmetics

So I talked about Totsy.com a few weeks ago. It's a fantastic website where you can sign up for great deals for your family. Seriously, the deals are awesome. I went on there again today just to check it out and I saw that they are having a sale on Lotus Cosmetics starting in 30 days. What really caught my attention is that this line of make-up is USDA certified organic. I don't know about you but my skin reacts to anything harsh I put on it and I've been on the look out for a good…

Bankruptcy Happy Dance.

So we just finalized out Bankruptcy. It many ways it is a closing of a very hard chapter for Ian and I. I don’t imagine so many couples would be trilled for their bankruptcy, as much as we are.  We had about 200k, all of which was medical debt.

Over the past 10 years, we have spent 7 of them without insurance. In those 10 years we have survive 3 layoffs, two evictions, and we moved about 6 times in 5 years. And that is only the been the financial  set backs.

The emotional…
