It’s January 25, do you know where your resolution is?
Mine is happening right now as my little fingers fly (poke) over the keyboard of my hand-me-down laptop; Resolution 2012, more writing.
Only took 25 days to get crackin’.
Do you know that almost half of all Americans make a New Year’s Resolution…Continue

I am about nine days late on the whole new years resolution thing, but better late than never I soppose. Hopefully by posting this, I will stay true to my goals for once...
1. Be more finacially stable...
I say this because my husband and I have been building our credit since we got married and we have tried to hurry the process to the point where we have almost hurt ourselves more than helped. It also has not helped that my husband got hurt at work and was off for six…Continue

What’s a work-at-home mom got to look forward to in the new year? Isn’t life the same as last week (which was, incidentally, last year, too): We’re at home, working from the dining table (for some, in their pajamas)?
Well, if you’re a more-often-than-not-optimist like me, you’ll ring in the new year…Continue

** If a day ever went by where a kid HADN'T peed on a toilet seat here, I'd swear I was in the wrong house.
** I seriously could not be more unorganized.
** Everybody needs a mental health day. (Still waiting impatiently to cash in on mine....)
** Homework supervision is totally interfering with my tweeting and…Continue

The older I get, the more I realize that New Year's Eve is totally overrated. I mean, seriously, what's the point of getting all dolled up to spend a shit-ton of money to fight a bunch of annoying crowds to risk being hit by a drunk driver and to then be disappointed that the night wasn't nearly as fabulous as you'd hoped it would be? That's why my husband and I made the executive decision many moons ago to just stay home and have our own little family party to ring in the new…Continue

I decided this year to write a list of goals, not resolutions. To me a resolution seems too rigid, to "instant" - like if by January 5th I haven't already made it a habit that I've failed or something. A goal is more something you work toward.…

** Once again, I have no desire to go out and get all crazy on New Year's Eve. (I'd rather do it the night BEFORE New Year's Eve.)
** Christmas cookies seriously kicked my ass this year.
** Trying to write with a house full of people is like trying to have sex with a house full of people (uh....not that I would know or…Continue

My mother=in-law showed me this super easy, super yummy cake that's so pretty and yummy and perfect for guests.
It's the No Bake Cake.
To make it you will need square tea biscuits, 2 pkgs of pudding (you can mix and match), 2/3 cups of margarine, and whipped cream. Sprinkles or chocolate shavings optional.…

The other day I sent out a tweet that could quite possibly be misconstrued as naughty by nature -- I said something to the effect of "My husband's Jolly Juice is a-flowing". Now many of you may have thought that this was some sort of sexual reference (cause let's be honest, usually it is), but surprisingly, this time, it was actually a very innocent comment referring to a new cocktail recipe that I found recently and somehow persuaded my husband to whip up for our friends and…Continue
A World of His Own is an enjoyable historical novel set in New Orleans in the early 1800′s. The novel spans a few years and centers around the life of Andre Raphael de Javon, an ambitious and handsome Frenchman who comes to America in order to become one of the richest plantation owners in Louisiana.
The story begins when he’s just arrived by ship to New Orleans in the company of his friend Charles, who’s spent the last six years studying in Europe. Charles comes…Continue

** This post is actually from 2 years ago, but it's such a holiday recipe hit, that I decided to post it again. Enjoy!! **
You know it's gonna be a good day when you're strolling through the wine aisle at the grocery store on a random Saturday morning and someone's offering you a shot of vodka. After a long week of racing…Continue
