I also have a little man who is almost 6 months old. How the time has flown. He gives his smiles and giggles pretty easily. He LOVES to eat and… Continue

I HATE DIETS! Why do we need resolutions anyway???

Yep, it's that time of year again. You know, after eating, not always the best food items, and drinking, not always the best stuff, it's time to repent for our intake sins.

We always start off in January in a retrospective mode. That is, we are 'actively' mapping out how we are going to change the things in our lives we feel need changing. Usually, that is our diet and finances.

So what goes wrong and makes us have to repeat this January tradition every… Continue

The Morning: Sat. Nov. 29th 2008

This morning my son Stephen woke me up... I love it when he wakes me up...

I noticed I was actually having a real conversation with him... It was great! My little man is growing up. His vocab is getting so much bigger... He even said the word “Classified”...

Holy cow! I thought, what an amazing sound coming out of a 5 year old.

He is becoming more and more independent... It scares the life out of me... But I enjoy it all the same.

Today is a… Continue

Tips For New Parents

I remember the day I became a mom as if it was yesterday.

I didn't know what to do, I was clueless and I couldn't understand how happy the baby is going to bring our small family.

The biggest tip I would wanna share with new mothers or new parents is to buy anything you can in advance and let the people who love you know you are gonna need their help and support.

My mom helped me the first weeks and it was a great time to bong with the family.

The new born got used to… Continue

Anyone Up for a Funeral?

C'mon, it will be fun!

I actually hate funerals, but this one I am really looking forward to! No, it's not a funeral for a loved one although, I must say, their demise is bittersweet. It is a funeral for my Fat Pants! The funeral is not today. In fact, the actual date has not been set. That's because they are not dead... yet. The Fat Pants have been in my life toying with my weight and emotions for years and I have had enough! I'm not playing around this time...they… Continue

I Swore I Would Never…

Before I had kids, I often sat with my arms-crossed and face-scowled when kids, in any environment, gleefully ran around me, shouting at the top of their lungs. I had this permanent look of non-amusement at any event that was all about kids. I would refuse to sit beside little ones on a plane; I even remember asking a booking agent one time if they actually had a child-free flight. If a hostess at a… Continue

Working Women: Performing the Balancing Act? ...An Introduction to Working from Home

Today’s working moms know all too well how tricky it can be to perform the balancing act between work and family life.

And….more and more of today’s working moms are leaving the corporate jungle to spend more time at the jungle gym. But, with the expense of raising kids on the rise and college tuition at record highs, giving up an income to stay at home isn’t an option for a lot of working moms today.

Working Women: Performing the Balancing Act? ...Flexing Your Work Schedule

Working moms know all too well how tricky it can be to perform the balancing act between work and family life. Somehow soccer practices and band concerts always seem to end up being scheduled at the same time as that meeting with your new client.

And…it seems that, for most moms, being pulled in a million different directions is taking its toll.

Did you know almost half of all working moms say they would take a cut in pay if it meant they could spend more time with their… Continue

Working Women: Performing the Balancing Act? ....Telecommuting

Let’s get started with my tips for performing the working woman’s balancing act without falling flat on your back with Tip #1.

Tip #1 – Telecommute: Allows people who live far from their place of business to work from home for certain work days and be more effective in their position, because they are not doing long commutes. It’s suppose to allow more productive time for the employer and also give flexibility to the employee if they have children.
