Baby day is getting closer and closer. We are only a couple of weeks away and he pretty much could make his entrance into the world anytime now. My hospital bag is packed, baby's bag is packed, and now I'm turning my attention to my diaper bag. I'm so used to packing for a two-year old, I have to retrain my brain for packing for a newborn....they need so much stuff! I'm…

Since I'm about to have this baby, and I'm not really able to do many projects, I thought I'd do a little post of my favorite baby things that we really, really used the first time around and that we plan to use again with baby number two. There is so much baby stuff out there these days, and we found some of it unnecessary. I'm focusing this list on mainly newborn baby needs. It's funny to see all the lists of what you need for baby on different sites, because every baby is so…Continue

The biggest shock after having our son is that after four days the hospital was letting us take him home.
Despite the baby prep classes and recovery time from my C-section and the video the nurses insisted that we watched, it seemed really soon. As in: We don't know what we are doing yet - are you sure you…

Newborn milestones are exciting! Seeing the new baby grow, learn new things, and experience the world. However, for this mama, they are also sad. Sienna is our 3rd baby. She will also be our last. So with every new milestone, I am reminded that it is also the last.
Today I began the sad process of cleaning out our newborn clothes. Sienna is now 4-months old. Only recently did she…Continue

It's 3 AM (or any other time in the middle of the night). The baby starts crying. She is awake for a bottle. I lay there for just a second to let my body get used to the idea that I'm about to wake up and climb out of a comfy bed. Ugh!
The baby is still in our room so I don't have to go far. She cries a little bit as I change her diaper and get her bottle ready. I usually sit on our bed…Continue

So many diapers, wipes, and diaper cream in our future. It is a bit daunting when you look at how many diapers babies need between birth and potty training... which happens around month 4 right :)
If you consider that babies use an average of 10 diapers a day for the first 5 months and 6 diapers a day for months 6-12, in the first year of his life Oliver will use around 2,912 diapers... I just peed a little bit.
I decided to start early on…

It took me about 4 weeks to settle into a night time routine with Oliver. However, since we started, it has been FANTASTIC! I wish that we had started our bedtime routine much earlier. I don't think it is ever too early to start. Before I share what we do at night, a quick disclaimer: I DO NOT stick to this every night... We are human! There are nights that just don't go as planned. I am ok with having off nights, but we try to do our routine whenever…Continue
