Passport Pain in the Ass

One of the standing items on my "to-do" list for the past couple of years has been to get passports for my twins.  (Cause ya just never know when you might need to skip the country, right?)  I knew it was gonna be a huge hassle, which is the main reason I've put it off for so long.  But, in true Nucking Futs…

What Would Mrs. Garrett Do?

Parenthood, we have a problem.  My sweet baby girl has gone off the deep end.  Even though she's only eight years old, I'm seriously considering enrolling her in Maury Povich's boot camp.  Or a chain gang.  Or both.  Cause seriously?  This shit's gotta stop.  The kid has been sent to the principal's office not once but TWICE in one week, and one of those times was on…

Interview with David Loeff, author of Graphics Essentials for Small Offices

Are looking for a graphic designer who does not cost a small fortune?  If you answered yes, read the interview below.

Recently I attended a writers' critique session in my home town of Denver Colorado. While there I met David Loeff. I

Chatting at the dentist office? Think twice

Yesterday, I sat sweating in a chair in the dentist's office. In the waiting room. Because I hate the dentist. Yes, I know. Bad. But I can't help it. I've tried to change. But I've had some negative experiences. However, I know how important the dentist is, and I'm fanatical about dental hygiene. So my kids go regularly. And they don't mind much at all.

They were both getting their teeth cleaned, and I was biding my time, taking deep breaths and reading fashion magazines.…

Holiday fun and gift giving at the office

When it comes to holidays and giving gifts to your co-workers, sometimes that can become a bit uncomfortable if you don’t know much about your co-workers’ private lives. The last thing you want to do is give a lousy gift and become known as the “lousy gift giver” in your department.

Why not suggest to your co-workers a Christmas gift card swap? Sort of like the Secret Santa gift… Continue

Finding Time for Exercising and... Taxes

Taxes, ugh… I just spend another evening compiling the necessary information for our accountant. Yes, we still haven’t sent him what he needs. I have been meaning to give him a call for weeks now, to at least let him know that we intend to use him again this year! But I have been so crazy busy with work (and blogging!), I was pretty sick for two weeks, and here we are, three weeks before the deadline. Wasn’t it just Christmas a little while ago? How does this happen every year? I am such an… Continue
