Michael Corleone and I have something in common besides a love for Diane Keaton: “Just when I thought I was out….they pull me back in.” Facebook is my Mafia godfather, forcing me to prostrate myself and kiss his ring daily in the form of status updates and socializing with people tens and a hundreds and thousands of miles away.

I made it all of twelve hours off Facebook. To my chagrin and secret pleasure,… Continue

Facebook Rehab 5: The Group Therapy App by "Samantha Greene"

Facebook Rehab 5: The Group Therapy App

By “Samantha Greene”

Clearly, I hit a bump in the road last night, and it bounced me right off the wagon and flat on my ass. It was more than just a slip - I was glued to Facebook until the wee hours of the night. Besides posting umpteen Status Updates, I took the following quizzes: What is Your NPR Personality? The Kitchen Gadget Quiz, What Kind of Mask Do You Wear?, When Will You Die? (but I didn’t look at the answer because I got… Continue

Warning: The following is a diary of one woman’s Facebook withdrawal program. Because of the intense nature of this endeavor, material in here will not be suitable for young readers and those with delicate sensibilities. Reader discretion is advised.

Ok, I spent 17 minutes on FFB (Fuckin’ Facebook) today, which is barely enough time to do anything, but it was great. I didn’t even post once! (Pretty… Continue

Wednesday Blog Recommendation

Last week I started sharing and writing about some of my favorite blogs. I enjoy searching out blogs that I find interesting and only subscribe to those that I feel will be fun to read and offer pertinate information and advice. I talked about the blog entitled, Thrifty & Chic Mom. I decided to try the endhilada recipe on the blog and loved the way they came out. My teenage kids loved them too! (This is unusual for my two teenage daughters to… Continue

Get Cash Back When You Shop Online

When shopping online you should either be shopping through a cash back site or through your frequent flyer miles provider site. No need spending more than you have to right?

So what happens when you use a cash back site is: you go to the cash back site and click on the store you want to shop at (it usually tells you the % back you get prior) then you shop like normal when you check out you will pay full price. However, within a couple of days you will get a email letting you know… Continue

How Old Are You... Really

I recently found this fun online calculator that kids and parents will love to use. There are a lot of calculators you can use for a lot of things, but I think the age calculator is fun and cool.

Click in, fill in your day, month, and year of your birthday and the current time. It comes back with your age, but that's not all. It also tell you how long you have been living for in months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds, and… Continue

Cheap Meals

This week, I decided that I just need to make more inexpensive meals. I study cookbooks, talk to friends, check out recipes online. I have tried to spend an emergency meal plan like it has been suggested on particular sites. I can never seem to do it. I think prices are more expensive here in Massachusetts.

I bought a turkey and a family pack of hamburg. Of course with the turkey, I got nice hot turkey sandwiches for a Saturday night supper and a huge pot of soup. So there are two meals.… Continue

More Websites - Same Content!

Been awhile since I've been on here - but I'm back!

Well, I now have 9 websites, having just finished my last one - http://www.NaturalProductsOnline.ca!

It is hard starting your own home business, and perseverance is the way to go! My theory was "go big or go home" and my hard work is (finally) paying off!

I started with one website, general Content - ExpressionsByTamara.com. Then, I realized I should have the CDN version too - so I got… Continue

The problem with the rural, rural area I live is not enough nice toy stores, you know besides cheap plastic things from Walmart.

So I have found some really great natural, creative, innovative toy and book shops online. They have great stuff!

Take charge of your skin!

Cosmetics are a billion dollar industry. We as women, spend money, energy and time on how we look. The old adage that men have it easy is no more.

Mineral make up is popular, because it is easy, less messy, and has a longer shelf life then most liquid foundations or makeup. It helps those with oily skin, acne prone skin, or sensitive skin because it is minerals, and not all chemicals or additives. Some mineral makeup has the spf to protect from the sun too.

Women like mineral makeup… Continue

Facebook Marketing - You Can Do It, Too!

Facebook is quickly becoming one of the best free sites for online business networking. However, because Facebook has an almost purely social framework, marketing your business appropriately and effectively can be difficult if you don't understand how to use online social networking to attract your target audience or market.

The good news is that it's not rocket science once you understand what Facebook is really designed to do and how to create a presence there that attracts the… Continue
