As any parent can attest, finding a unique and attention-keeping kids party entertainer can be the hardest part of planning a celebration for the little ones. Most people’s initial reaction is to hire a clown to entertain but, although fun, just how long can a painted face, big red nose, and oversized shoes keep the kiddies riveted? End of the School Year Madness

1340509283247_6049743

Maybe it's just me, but the end of the school year always seems to bring with it a boatload of unwanted stress.  Finding a "place" for all the papers that are sent home, trying not to drown in the flood of never-ending emails, buying the gazillion and one thank you gifts -- IT NEVER EVER…

Let's learn something: How to celebrate the important stuff

My birthday is this weekend. And I'm going to celebrate. All. Week. Long. (Maybe even longer...I haven't decided yet.)

When I was growing up, I didn't truly enjoy my birthdays. There was a bad incident with a clown on one birthday, and for the others, I was a bit shy and didn't like being the center of attention. My parents tried to have parties for me, but I didn't…

Happy Birthday to Me

MjAxMi1kYjhmMjViMTE0NTJmZmIx

Cue the red carpet, marching band, and fireworks, y'all, cause today is my birthday! Yippee!  But let's be real here, people -- I'm a mom, and we all know what that means. I'll be schlepping screaming kids from Point A to Point B, scrubbing skid marks out of little undies, and turning to my friend Google to help…

Pirate Theme Birthday Party Ideas

Have I mentioned previously how much I love Pinterest? I went on there to create a board for Pirate theme goodies just so I can have an easy place to keep track of things I found. After searching their site for additional ideas, I came across much better ideas than I originally had. Things I can do myself, which means I can save money (yay)!

There…

Reviewing the Week

I cannot be the only one…whose weeks are so full of things to do that they fly by fast and whose weekends fly by even faster.  Time has a horrible habit of getting away from me (notice how I don't take the blame for simply having bad time management skills) and before I know it it's Friday afternoon and I have so much yet to accomplish.  This past week was no different then the rest and we had quite a few things going on per usual.

It was a gray and chilly day…

HOLY Berries!!!

I originally posted this a few years ago, but it's definitely one that I like to pull out of the vault again at holiday time.  Cause it's about liquor.  And who DOESN'T need a cup of cheerful something or other at this time of the year??!!

You know it's gonna be a good day when you're strolling through the wine aisle at the grocery store on a random…

Make New Friends But Keep The Old?

I cannot be the only one...who has suspected that their long time friendships may have turned into something other than actual friendships over the many, many years that we have known each other. This is something I have been thinking about for…

Rock, Paper, Scissor Parenting

Rock

Ok, yeah, I'll admit that my husband and I may have rock, paper, scissored our way through some of more undesirable aspects of parenting our twins.  (I'm pretty sure we're not the only ones who do this either.)  Because, sometimes, it just doesn't really make sense for BOTH of us to jump into a crappy situation.  For…

Minnie Mouse Party & Get up in my Business

I know I have been MIA for the past week. I have been busy with the usual, driving kiddos around, homework, mediating sibling quarrels, repeatedly cleaning up the same messes (if I had a quarter for every piece of dog food that doesn’t make it into our dog’s mouth I would be halfway to a millionaire!), etc. And in my free time (I just made myself lol! Free time, what is that!?), let’s be honest, it is more like on my in-between drop-offs and pickups I run into stores that are on my route (I…
