I was selected to host a party sponsored by Hearts For Hearts Girls! Party was a success, since I was cramming to move, throw a birthday party, and host two separate parties. I decided to throw one big bash and invite everyone over. I introduced …Continue

** Summer really needs a speeding ticket.
** Inspirational quotes do nothing but piss me off when I'm in a crabby mood.
** The Olympics have evidently convinced my kids that there's a vault in our second floor hallway. (And I assure you there is not.)
** My brain has a serious case of the farts lately.
** The top of…Continue

I am a recovering Pinterest addict. When I first joined the site, I went on pinning rampages (winter in Utah w/ a 6 month old-- what else was I to do?). I ended up with over 3000 pins within a few months, which is maybe, kind-of, I concede, a little excessive. Now I have cut back to 20-30 pins and max 30 minutes a week, I swear, husband. But one of those lovely time-wasting afternoons was spend on Isla's first birthday party. It has to be big! It has to be cute! It has to be…Continue

Ok, so I finally am caught up in the Angry Bird madness. My husband and son have been playing for months, then my youngest joined them, and now I am hooked. What is it about those crazy birds? My oldest has already decided that his birthday party will have an Angry Bird theme, and is wanting some kind of cake with the birds and pigs. Yea right. I'll get right on that. Because I sew and don't bake, I could have a problem. But I did make these cute party favor masks that have been a…Continue

My kids are getting to that dreaded age where every flippin' weekend they beg for a sleepover. As soon as school gets out on Friday, they start hittin' me up for a party in their pj's. And I don't know about you, but I am not a big fan of the sleepover, mainly because it ends up biting ME in the ass the next day.
Now my son is not really the issue, since he…Continue

One great thing about our new, larger house is the ability to actually have guests over. We already held the small family party for Jellybean's birthday, but this Saturday, I'm excited to host a real two year old birthday party and invite some of her little…Continue

The other day I sent out a tweet that could quite possibly be misconstrued as naughty by nature -- I said something to the effect of "My husband's Jolly Juice is a-flowing". Now many of you may have thought that this was some sort of sexual reference (cause let's be honest, usually it is), but surprisingly, this time, it was actually a very innocent comment referring to a new cocktail recipe that I found recently and somehow persuaded my husband to whip up for our friends and…Continue

I was browsing around the Internet for some cool Halloween cakes. I came across one that I loved and did not totally copy it but did use it as a pattern. I wish I remembered what blog it was from because I would give them credit for the idea. I have searched Google and few times, using the…Continue

Once again one of my very favorite holidays has passed me by faster than I could say, "Boo!" Yes, Halloween has come and gone and left me with a massive candy overdose. I seriously don't think I'll be able to look at a Twix bar the same without puking ever again (at least not until next week anyway). The festive weekend was certainly chalked full of all kinds of fun while it lasted though.
It all started with our annual adults-only costume party, which…Continue

It is often believed that the success of a party depends upon the host. This is not entirely true. A great event is a combination of an inspired host and a considerate guest. As Labor Day approaches and the NFL kicks off the fall party season, here are some simple rules to ensure that you’ll be a…

To some people, this necklace might look like something the Malibu Barbie serial killer would wear. But to MY group of friends? Well, this fine piece of craftsmanship is something to be treasured -- at least until you anonymously pass it along to the next unsuspecting girl.
It all started last year when it was used as a prop in a very creative…Continue
