My Laptop Is Growing Fatter!

Call me Frugal and Stingy, I think I am indeed one when it comes to changing to a new computer.. My kids have urged me to get a new one and I refused to... The laptop is working fine except for two growing "trees" and I am going to see Doctor Dell to cut them off soon...  hahahaa....

In April 2012 I put up a post "My Laptop Is Growing" and it was two narrow lines then...…

Things I've Learned This Week

** All I want for Christmas is a personal chef.  And a bigger bank account to pay for the personal chef.

** Those inflatable lawn Santas look so sad and hungover during the daytime.

** A sick kid at home makes for an incredibly unproductive week.

** I've eaten so many damn holiday cookies that you should probably start calling me…

Springing into Spring - Time for a Fresh Start!

Spring is just around the corner!  To most of us, spring represents a time for freshness, growth and re-birth.  Flowers start to bloom, animals emerge from hibernation, and birds return to the north from their winter homes to nest, procreate, and chirp away from morning ‘til dusk.

In most parts of the country, days become longer, weather becomes milder, and many people emerge from their own winter hibernations and spend less time indoors.  The warmer weather…

I Wish I Lived...

I thought this was a fun writing prompt.  I have always believed I was born in the wrong era.  Don't get me wrong, I love living in the USA.  I love all the comforts of electricity, inside plumbing, and having a Walmart just down the road.  Oh and don't forget the automobile to get me back and forth to Walmart. :)  But there are times when I wish I lived in a different time period.

When I was a young girl, I used to spend many hours in the library reading.  Some of my…

My Public Speaking Dilemma

I was contemplating this morning whether to go to work or not... in fact, as early as 6am, I woke up to a confused mind, "Should I go to work or not?" I have not been sleeping well the previous night due to constant coughing and getting up to spit and drink warm water to ease the throat itchiness. Eventually I decided to go to work and it was already 9am then.... I know I would not be able to rest peacefully at home knowing there was going to be a meeting and my work had not completed yet. I…

End Weekend Insanity

Get More Out of Your Weekend

I used to be a madwoman on the weekends.  Dr. D. avoided me Saturday mornings as I rode around on my broom frantically trying to cram in as many tasks before noon as possible.  As a busy working mother, I found that my weekends were consumed with catching up on all of the stuff I couldn't  get done during the week -- laundry, cooking, errands, you name it.  Even before…
