The date.

It's not like I have an appointment or something.

Or maybe yes, I do.

Last week me and Husband went  to the gynecologist.

She set the date.

For medical reasons I will end up having a c-section.

Which means that we have a day scheduled.

June 16th.

Baby Julia will be born by June 16th.

Quick breakfast in Trastevere

Last saturday morning I went downstairs to walk little dog Cicco (pronunciation: Cheekko).

I normally just go around the block during these last weeks of pregnancy.

The heat is too much for me to walk a lot.

My belly is heavy and I easily get out of breath.

Anyway,

we started by walking along the church downstairs:…

Mamas on Bedrest: Take Care of Yourself Now To Better Care for Your Children Later

Women who experience repeated stressful events while pregnant are more likely to have children with behavioral problems

Dr. Monique Robinson, a psychologist at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research in Perth, Australia, and her colleagues analyzed data from nearly 3,000 pregnant women who reported stressful events at 18 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. Of those women, about 37 percent reported two or more stress events and nearly 8 percent reported six or more.

Money and…

Highway Robbery...I Mean Health Insurance

Just got off the phone with my health insurance provider. Trying to get them to pay *their share* of the homebirth. You know, the one I discussed with them a year ago. The one they agreed to pay 80% of. Well,

let’s just say I’m having trouble calling them a “provider.” They cut a check for less than 40% of the homebirth.

Can you imagine if your partner “provided” for you like insurance companies manage to?

You give a whole lot of what you have to…

the conversation that should never happen

Here's the conversation of Jane and another woman:

"No thank you; chocolate-covered pretzels aren't part of my diet," Jane says.

"They're not part of mine either, but I just ate five!" the other woman says, laughing a bit as she says it.

"Well, pregnant women can eat this kind of stuff! It's good for the baby! Pregnant women don't have to be on diets..." Jane says - but she goes on and on for about a minute (a v.e.r.y. long minute), but…

Free Pregnancy Journal

Original Posting at NewlyParents.com here

journal.jpg What kind of luck is it that there is only 8 weeks left in our pregnancy and we are just now finding out about this free pregnancy journal. We ended up buying a couple of different journals around week 20 of our pregnancy so we could fill out parts along the way before we forgot the details (it's almost completed now minus the birth). Never the less, we… Continue

Baby Week 29 There are several days during the week that have some sort of special meaning to them. Monday is the day we all dread as we are heading back to work. Wednesday we look forward too because that signifies that half the work week is over (don't say "Hump Day", you sound stupid), Friday is great because the weekend is here and Saturday and Sunday are… Continue
