Co-sleeping is a fairly common practice and many parents sleep in the same bed or room with their young baby or toddler. Here are 4 of the most toxic ingredients that are found in almost…Continue

Almost every day, I run into a busy mama friend and the first thing she says to me is, “Don’t look at me, I didn’t have time to put makeup on today!” Trust me, I’ve had my days too. After some time though, it got me thinking. How long does it really take us to put makeup on? Is it that time consuming…Continue

Oh how we love our plastic! Nothing has shaped the modern world quite like it. And it’s virtually everywhere you look: vinyl flooring, electrical conduit, fencing, water pipes, windows, shower curtains, decking and wallpaper.
Polyvinyl chloride is one of those materials used for its durability and cost effectiveness. It’s also very low maintenance and can be made softer and more bendable. PVC is now a popular choice for outdoor furniture, upholstery and even clothing.

As I age I notice that I do not exercise the way I used to. For one thing, I no longer care as much about the latest fitness trend. I have never been a runner and quite frankly it hurts my feet, knees and back. So, my regular exercise regimen simply consists of walking almost everyday. I do anywhere from two to five miles.…Continue

Kids, after all, are expensive.
While the holidays proved to be a high point of the year, let's face it: getting a snowsuit or new running shoes for our children at 60 per cent off was almost too much to bear.…

As moms, we try to do everything we can to create a healthy environment for our families. We try to prepare healthy food as often as possible, keep our homes clean and teach our children the importance of keeping our bodies healthy. Many of us, however, are unknowingly exposing our families to harmful substances. I know that until recently, I paid no attention to what chemicals I was using to run our household. In the past 4 months, I've done a lot of research and once I found out that while…Continue
