I know what my son's homework is: I know about the spelling assignments and the online math homework and the reading comprehension sheets and all the additional projects. I know all of this, of course, because my son's teacher sends notes - both physical and over email - on a very regular basis.…Continue

Marketing. It's a word that simultaneously excites me and makes me cringe. Platforms are constantly changing, making it difficult to reach a target market (ahem, Facebook), prospective customers are tuning out more and more because there is a constant glut of information being thrown at them, key performance metrics that trended positive six months ago may not mean much now because marketing channels are flooded with content and becoming largely ineffective.
So the question is...with…Continue

Boiling the ocean.
So cliché. We hear those words all the time in corporate America. It basically means you are trying to do way too much within a given endeavor/timeframe. Usually, those projects end up failing because you didn't focus your efforts on the goal at hand and you let things get way out of control to the detriment of your resources.
But those words also have a lot of relevance for startup entrepreneurs, whose budgets are considerably smaller and time to market may…Continue

It's the weekend, and for many people a chance to catch up on things they have neglected. Maybe you would like to catch up with friends and family. Maybe you want to enjoy some extra time with the kids. Possibly you have the dreaded chore filled weekend. You might even just want to have an extended pajama party lolling around watching movies or taking a nap. The intentions are good, but how much of what you want to do gets done? What keeps you from making yourself the…Continue

** I'm the only one here that seems to know that the floor is not a trash can.
** Shrinky Dinks may be the dumbest art project ever invented.
** I really don't need to know WHY there's a streak of poo on the side of the toilet.
** "Make Your Own Pizza Night" is really just my way of saying, "Fix Your Own Damn…Continue

I'm not sure what has gotten into me, but I've been in a particularly crafty mood as of late. I blame the week and a half of rain... Regardless, I have been searching around my house for items to either re-purpose or update. It's amazing what a difference some scrapbook paper and some paint can do to boring,…Continue

Just noodling around with a Martha Stewart template and creating some holiday appropriate road signs. These were inspired by my son's fascination with animal crossing signs.

My daughter is obsessed with baby dolls. She is so obsessed with receiving baby dolls as gifts, that she thinks that every present she receives (or anyone else for that matter) is going to contain a doll. Life can be disappointing sometimes. Especially when a prettily wrapped present does not contain a baby.
This is why I thought she'd get a kick out of this 5 minute craft that I whipped together during nap time. What I put together was really intended to be a prototype, but it…

I'll start by saying that last week was maybe the second time I have ever stepped foot in a thrift store. I don't know why I feel a little funny admitting that. The first time was for a high school dance. We needed some Hawaiian shirts and it's a pretty good place to get them. Since that time, I think the combination of clutter…Continue

I am always looking for new projects and hobbies. I love art projects and crafty hobbies, although I never stick with one project too long. My house is filled with piles of projects unfinished…knitting, stained glass, needlepoint, sketching, painting. The only crafty hobby I have stayed with for any length of time is cross-stitch, although some projects took me years to complete.
