Technology Orphans

We've all heard the expression 'football widow', but have you heard of a 'technology orphan'? I use this term to describe children who do everything they can to get their parent's attention while the parent has their nose stuck in their smartphone.

I may be a grandmother of five, but do get it.  I am guilty of reading a book, playing a game, or texting (or all three) on my phone while watching TV. And I see nothing wrong with occupying yourself on the phone while waiting in a line or…

'Quality Time'? What's That?

Can someone please explain to me what 'quality time' is? I hear a lot about it, and hear that sometimes it's not the quantity of time that you spend with your kids but the quality of the time spent that is what matters most. It seriously makes me wonder what the hell 'quality time' is.

Take our recent evenings, for instance. My kids and I have found the TV show 'Sliders' on Netflix's instant watch, and we've spent the last 3…

Jack Franklin - Quality Silk Ties for Less

Many of us women miss the days when our men used to don suit & tie on a regular basis. There is something quite irresistible and sexy about the confidence they exude when they are wearing a tie. E.L.F. Makeup - Both Quality and Quantity

We have mentioned E.L.F. (Eyes, Lips, Face) makeup before in both our Drugstore Essentials article and last year’s Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide. I have personally been a huge fan of E.L.F. makeup for years. The reasons are 1) you can’t…

Hello from Singapore

Although I am still in beautiful Singapore with my Daughter “the Gymnast” and “My Rock”, I thought I should communicate with you prior to my return.

First, Singapore is beautiful and we are having an amazing time. I am so blessed that I can travel and take my children with me. We have decided that we will take each child on their own trip– so this was Gymnasts trip. My other two children also had their “on their own trips” It is a whole other world… Continue

Add content and they will come

I mentioned Cricket in my last post. One of the most important things I learned, in order to have a successful website, is we must have quality content. Not just content, but relevant, quality content.

I've found there's no way around it and I feel it is something we should be doing our self. But be careful of duplicate content. If it appears spamy or not relevant Google, won't like… Continue
