Of course he does.…

21 Questions to Ask Your Preschooler

Dear Diary,

This fall, Caitlynn started school. My little girl--who wasn't even on earth a few years before--was sitting in a classroom, learning letters, singing songs and making friends. So much goes on in the span of six hours. Although I would love to call off work and spend the day in pre-k, I have to make money to pay the tuition that posts to my bank account on the first of the month. One Question I'll Be Asking My Children (& Myself) Everyday

Yesterday when I picked up Elijah from school, I did the same thing nearly every parent does when they see their children at the end of the day:  I asked him, “How was your day?

Thrift Store Shopping and a What Would You Do?

I'll start by saying that last week was maybe the second time I have ever stepped foot in a thrift store. I don't know why I feel a little funny admitting that. The first time was for a high school dance. We needed some Hawaiian shirts and it's a pretty good place to get them. Since that time, I think the combination of clutter…

Lions, Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Lions, Tigers and Bears, Oh My! Blogger, Facebook and Twitter, Oh My! When I first started this blog in January I had no idea how important this outlet would be to me. I have no regrets leaving my career to be home for my first born. Although, staying at home with a small child has some negative points. I missed adult conversations. Through social media I was able to fill that void. It was an outlet to bounce my thoughts and concerns to other moms. Talking to others moms gave me an avenue to… Continue

Would you sue a doctor you like, if he made a mistake?

Okay, so I encourage the importance of a partnership between doctors and patients.  I figure if we can talk to our doctors, he'll know better what's going on with us and we'll better understand what he wants from us.  We'll also be able to work together if we have all kinds of other ideas we're thinking of trying that he may not suggest- like using olive oil for that dry scalp instead of a medicated shampoo.

But could this closeness hurt the doctor?  Go with me for a second.…

THERE AIN'T NO MANUAL FOR MOTHERHOOD!

There is no manual that pops out with the baby that tells you exactly how to raise a child.  So what do we do? We ask friends, family or buy books.  The problem with that is we are getting advice from someone else's experiences based on their own environment, family dynamic, genetics, issues or talents.  We need to find out who WE are first and then raising a child will be easy.  How do we do that?  The only way to find answers is to ask questions.

The glitch is that we need to be…
