What is the place in this large, dangerous and hostile world where we can hide from all problems, find support and understanding? For the majority of people it is home. The day I discovered my husband’s side chick, I cried. I’ve known my husband for quite some time. We met when I was 15 and 16, just right outside of our homes. From the moment of that first hello, I couldn’t help but to feel butterflies. After we parted ways, I went to Howard University and he went to San Jose State University,I never really imagined that I would see him again. Needless to say life is funny. After 8 years we finally reconnected and I felt like that little…Continue

Dear Kaleb and Kaden,
By the time you are able to read this letter you will probably wonder just what in the world I was talking about. Any snacks your father and I had, both of you were front and center with big eyes and smiles repeatedly saying "please.. please...chips please...chips please". Well at least you two had manners at an early age. With manners like that, who…Continue

I have recently been talking to one of my close friends regarding parenting struggles he is having with his teenagers. The topic of protecting the parent-teen relationship in the context of setting boundaries and consequences has come up several times. I began to think about how to negotiate the boundaries and consequences all families must have to function effectively, within the parent-teen relationship.
In my friend’s case, he is concerned if he is too strict or pushes too hard he…Continue

The Tango is the best expression of a relationship that works beautifully as each partner accept their leader-follower roles for the sake of their sacred dance of intimate connection.
Think about this – if both partners attempt to lead there is much friction, resistance and the dance appears as a chaotic battlefield. If both want to follow the other – nothing magical happens – they just go round and round in aimless circles or…Continue

Now that all the mega-lottery winners have stepped forward, the overwhelming odds are you didn't win. Americans spent $1.5 billion in their quest to win the jackpot, fantasizing about how they would happily spend the $656 million to be paid out to the winner. As it happened, there were three winning tickets so the final after-tax take home for each will be about $100 million. Still, nothing to sneeze at.

I have never called myself Daddy's Little Girl, but somehow, I have always felt like I am!
And, even though I'm all grown up now, my Dad's 'Leo' strong, positive influence still plays a huge part in my life, just as it did when I WAS a little girl.
I can still hear Dad telling my sister and I that drugs and cigarettes will kill…

Today I took my first steps inside a gym (to actually use the equipment rather then the joining process or to have a look around) for a loooooooooooooooooong time. The last time I worked out in one was when I lived in London and I used to go to a Government run gym in Swiss Cottage, North London maybe 8 years ago or so! Blimey! Where do the years go?!
'The Lawyer' and I both became members of a gym company here aptly (and laughingly) called…
