SHOP for JAPAN

I would like to invite you to a shopping list on Etsy full of so many different shops. Every shop listed will donate some or all of the proceeds to a Japan relief fund. There is jewelry, artwork, home goods, women's apparel, and more. There are low to middle to high price ponts, so everyone can afford to give. Please stop by. Just clicking on the list helps with exposure. And if you can't make a purchase right now, please help by blogging about the treasury, tweeting and sharing on facebook.…

Painless Shots for Kids

This is one of the neatest things I've ever seen. It's a cute little bumblebee that relieves needle pain when your child gets a shot. Simply press it against the skin above the injection site and it interferes with pain signals to relieve injection pain. Since there are few things I dread more than taking my child to get a shot, I am very interested in seeing how well this thing works. I would imagine that the sight of the needle alone is frightening enough for a child to go nuts, but maybe the… Continue

Walkabout

I took a walk in the woods on Saturday. All by myself. This may not sound like a big deal to some, but I’m—er, over 40 and have never taken a walk in the woods by myself before. As a family, we’ve done plenty of hiking all around the beautiful state of Michigan, as well as in several other states and countries. But on this particular day, my husband was out of town for work, and my kids were busy with their activities.

As I drove my son to… Continue
