During a day of thrifting, I found myself in downtown Savannah, Georgia, and decided to treat myself. I'd heard mixed reviews about the restaurant of Paula Deen: The Lady and Sons Buffet. I heard the food was both good and average and that the wait to get in was ridiculous, so curiosity and hunger led me to see for myself. I was not afraid to…Continue

I'm being tested. But, I realized what my problem is. It's not mean friends or that I lack motivation, what I lack is a bit of self control. But I won't freak out, it's something I can fix as long as I ignore a certain friend!
As soon as I finished my trampoline workout, she called me. I heard her calling while doing…
Me and my husband, we love to eat! :-D We love to cook (well, my husband does, I just bake), we love to go out for a delicious dinner and when choosing a travel destination, good food is a must.
Compared to other parents who I hear are complaining that they haven’t eaten outbecause of their baby for months, I must…Continue

We all know by now that stupid situations are drawn to me like white on rice. I honestly don't seek them out. They just somehow always find me. And this probably explains why my 2012 SUV accidentally found its way into an antique auto show over this past weekend. Only me, right??!…Continue

Do you ever wanna just walk away from your kids in public and act like you don't know who the hell they are? No? Surely that's not just me. Call me Mommy Dearest if you will, but when my kids have a brain fart and act like complete Neanderthals who've never heard of manners, I sometimes think it would be easier to point and stare and pretend like I'm disgusted by the horrible excuse…
You know you're up a shit creek when your kid comes out of a public bathroom after ten LONG minutes and says, "Uh, can you come in here and help me, Mama?" You might as well just take a deep breath, roll up your sleeves, and prepare for the worst. I speak from experience because I dealt with this very same scenario over the weekend when I secured my status…Continue

For many, going out for a romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day is a tradition but, what about if you made it a date night every month? Or even every week?Continue

I am a bit obsessive when it comes to feeding my kids. When I start looking at labels and realizing that EVERYTHING they eat has sugar, salt, and disgusting chemicals it just makes me crazy! Even so-called "healthy" foods like yogurt and granola bars are loaded with refined sugar and high fructose corn syrup. It makes me want to move to a cabin in the woods and feed the kids…Continue

Finally! Our representatives have grown a pair and have drawn a line in the sand against the fast food industry, on our behalf. In a nearly unanimous vote by city officials, fast food operators in San Francisco can no longer give away toys in kid's meals, unless they meet certain standards...much higher than what these restaurants…Continue

I am a recovering material girl. Over a short span of two decades, my husband and I managed to accumulate an impressive collection of “status symbols” which I enjoyed until I realized how much excess “baggage” we were carrying around. I have become more practical in my 5th decade (that would be my 40’s). I have stopped worrying about what will “impress”. I now follow my heart to make decisions.…Continue
One way to save money is by eliminating or cutting down on dining out. My family of four has put a limit on dining out to once a week and even with that, we almost always use a gift card, a coupon, or dine at a place where kids eat free.
Where do the gift cards come from?
