InStyler Products Review, Deal and Giveaway!

I received three InStyler tools and I was excited to try them, because I saw them on TV and wondered if they actually worked for my hair type. My hair is naturally curly, but I don't have silky curls, I have coarse curls, so it's usually a battle trying to straighten my hair bone straight without using a hair relaxer. I won't say "never again", but after officially going natural in early 2013 I have…

Adovia Purifying Mud Mask Review

I finally got around to trying the Adovia Purifying Mud Mask, with Pure Dead Sea Mud, Aloe Vera and Vitamin C. I haven't used a face mask product since I was a pre teen copying my mom one day. I was excited, especially because it has Pure Dead Sea Mud, which is known to provide great results.

This product is for all skin types, so I wasn't really…

Wineducation: Wine in a Book

I love wine, but like many things that I proclaim to love I don't know all that much about it.  Being a busy Mama I tend to find something I like, in this case a Merlot or Petite Sirah, and keep moving without taking the time to figure out exactly what it is I like about it.  The web is a great place to research and gather information like little eggs in a wire basket, but I do enjoy a tangible item that I can hold, mark my place, and add notes if I feel so inspired, so to fulfill those…

Anakena Chile Carmenere: Wine with a Wild Side

It’s been awhile since I’ve had the chance to try any new wines, I have been searching my normal haunts (Trader Joe’s, Costco, and the Wal-Mart) and have been striking out in finding anything interesting that fits into my Middle-Class wine parameters (under ten bucks a bottle). Then, while on his own perfect brew mission, the Hubs returned from the Total Wine with something different, a Chilean Carmenere, and viola a new bottle to taste and share my thoughts on was…

Buffalo Grove Merlot: A Wild Bet?

I used to consider myself a Cabernet Sauvignon type of girl. I loved the rich red hues, bold flavors, and the security of what to expect when ordering a glass of wine when out at a restaurant, but recently my taste have changed.  Now I would say that I gravitate more towards Merlot and Pinot Noirs (which is unfortunate because of the Pinot's more expensive price tag), but I find these two reds range of taste more broad, and usually more enjoyable as well.…

Establish a Bed Time Routine for Your Child and Calm Their Fears With Monster Defense Spray

Over the last several weeks, I have noticed that my youngest son doesn’t like to go to bed at night.  I am not sure if he is scared of the dark, terrified to be alone, dealing with separation anxiety, if he is just going through a phase where he wants to be independent, or he is afraid of “monsters” hiding under his bed or in his closet.   Every night we go through the same exact routine, my youngest son will throw a fit and he will tell me that he doesn’t want to go to bed.  Each night we…

Red Leaf Tea - Naturally flavored Eggnog Matcha Review & Giveaway

I made the Eggnog Matcha the same way I made the Caramel Matchaccino. As soon as I opened the packet, the smell of eggnog was noticeable. It smelled great.

Red Leaf Tea - Caramel Matchaccino Review

I was given the opportunity to try two products from RedLeafTea.com. The Caramel Matchaccino and the Naturally flavored Eggnog Matcha. I've never heard of either products, but I was excited to try them. Here's my thoughts in the Caramel Matchaccino.

First things first, I had no idea what…

Raising Redemption by R.A. Russell

When I was asked to review Raising Redemption, I jumped at the chance because it sounds like a great read and it had an excellent story line based on the excerpt from the back of the book.  I realize that life is full of twists and turns and that everything in life doesn’t always go according to the way we plan things.  As a parent often times, we have high…

What's that you say? A cool, low budget gift for Christmas? That's right... And you don't even have to kill a tree!

The pip and I like to play this game where we take turns drawing pictures and the other person has to guess what it is. Most of the time, the picture is that of a poorly drawn …

Wrapping This Week Up

I cannot be the only one...who has realized that the end of another week in December only means seven days closer to Christmas, and that thought is making me break out in a cold sweat.  I don't know about the rest of you, but my normal chores don't cease in the name of Christmas, meaning I haven't wrangled up any extra time to spend getting this holiday thing under control.…

Three 3 Winemakers...Win or Lose?

Well my friends it is time that it happened again, I have been on a winning wine streak, and as streaks are known to do, it has come to an end.  As much as I love sharing great budget wines with you I truly hate sharing the budget bombs but an honest wine drinking mama has got to do what an honest wine…

Wet and Wild Working My Brows

I cannot be the only one....who sometimes questions their judgement while purchasing beauty items from the big chain stores, you know the Targets and Wal-Marts of the world, because how could products with such low prices work comparably to those that cost three to five times more? But the holidays are on their way and I can't waste an extra ten dollars on an eyebrow pencil, no matter how desperately my eyebrows are screaming for help, and this leads me to picking up these beauty essentials…

Dazzling Smile by Crest 3D White

I cannot be the only one....who has noticed that Southern California is the land of perfect and sparkling white teeth. The drop off at my son's school is full of moms carrying Starbucks coffee, stomping around in hundred dollar (or more) Ugg boots, and setting a fabulous dental standard. My hour glass of time is perpetually half empty leaving me unable to spend much time worrying about my own smile brightness, so I decided to find a great whitening toothpaste and the good news is, I found…

I finally tried Bulu Box, check out my thoughts on the September box...

A few weeks ago, one of the Living Social deals posted was of a three month subscription to Bulu Box for $10. I went to their website and saw that Bulu Box is a product sampling company similar to the Bestowed box I tried earlier this year, but with a focus on weight loss. Weight loss is the whole purpose of me exercising, so I figured I'd try it. I couldn't wait for the box to arrive!

According to their web site:

"Bulu Box is the first health, nutrition and weight…

A Storm in Memphis by Hero Jenkins

Technology has made reading books easier for me.  I love reading new books and I love being able to read books on my smartphone using an e-reader app.  I love being able to read while laying in bed or on the go.  I was approached by Hero Jenkins about a month ago and I was asked if I would be interested in reviewing “A Storm in Memphis.”  I was excited for this…

Black Night by S.J. Strayhorn

I haven’t been reading books as quickly as I was a few months ago.  I have several books in my pile, that I am slowly reading.  I wish I had more time to read but things have been crazy around my house over the last few weeks.  The kids will be heading back to school in less than a mouth and I hope that I can get back into my normal routine.  I love having…
