Baby Showers: The Next Big Thing

Like so many modern celebrations, Baby Showers have arrived in the UK from North America. It’s a real tradition over there and, like High School Proms, Halloween and Black Friday, one of those exciting social events that is catching on big time over here.

The idea is simple but universally appealing. Throw a party for the pregnant mother and her…

Monetizing Your Mom Blog is Easier Than Ever With Media.net

As a new generation of influencers crop up on the net and veteran bloggers continue to idealize the way for interacting with brands and getting paid, companies the world over are vying for the attention of both. RORAIMA Lightweight Reclining Camping Chair

I attend a lot of local events with my family. For outdoor events, bringing chairs and blankets are usually less of a suggestion, more of a requirement if you want to be comfortable and not stand for hours.…

10 Year Anniversary Trip... With The Kids

My husband and I celebrated 10 years of marriage! Crazy, right?!

Well, we wanted to do something special to celebrate but our youngest was only four months and I’d be breastfeeding; so we decided spend our 10 year anniversary trip... with the kids. Not overly romantic, I know, but sometimes you gotta make the best of the situation. An all inclusive Jamaican resort was our destination of choice. We’d never been there before so it would still be special and it was all inclusive, which…

Something is growing in your car seat

Sometimes when I am at work I look at my keyboard and am disgusted because I can't remember the last time I cleaned it. This is usually followed by a bout of spraying and swabbing it.…

Car seat safety: When to face forward

I remember the day we changed my son's car seat to a forward-facing position: It was on his first birthday and he had reached the seat's height and weight limit (we actually got him a new seat and installed it on his birthday). He was so excited to see out the front windshield, and as we drove around, I could see him straining to see more of the road.…

10 Tips to Successfully Potty Train Your Toddler

A few months ago we purchased a potty seat for my son, he was starting to show interest in potty training.  He has been watching other kids and following us to the restroom for a few months now.  After I purchased the potty seat a few months ago, I tried putting my son on the potty.  I knew that it was still a bit early and didn’t quite show all of the…

Mom’s What Type of Potty Seat Would You Choose for Your Toddler?

My baby is showing the signs that he is getting close to being ready to potty train.  A few weeks ago, he started telling when he has a soiled diaper.  He says, “I poop” when he soils his diaper.  He hasn’t quite figured out the difference between urinating and pooping.  I am excited and nervous at the same…

PottyCovers Review and Giveaway

It never fails. Every shopping trip, as soon as my kids notice the "Restroom" sign at a store, they suddenly have "go to the bathroom badly"! I have two boys, so it's supposed to be easy right? Wrong! My 4 year old has asked for privacy before. Thinking he was just going to stand and handle his business like a "normal" guy, I found him undressing himself completely, because he's more comfortable going to the bathroom naked. Goodness, we're not home! Sometimes he sits, sometimes he…

Things I've Learned This Week

** Judging from Beyonce, Manti T'eo, and Lance Armstrong, fake things apparently happen in threes.

** The media sure knows how to beat a news story to death.

** My ass is eternally grateful for the genius who invented seat heaters.

** Women supposedly look their ugliest at 3:30 PM on Wednesdays.

** The people who…

Choosing the right car seat for the right stage

One thing that really confused me was picking the right car seat.  There were so many different types and all the descriptions I read said I really needed "this one" because its so great because blah blah blah.  My eyes glazed over and I moved onto something more fun like baby dresses because I just didn't want to deal with picking a car seat.  Then a friend of mine told me to register for two because blah blah blah... it was already hard picking one now I need two?  So…

Frigid Buns

Colby recently bought a new pickup truck.  Just so you know, this make the third pickup truck he owns.  Don’t ask me to explain why…I think it is a Texas thing.  When he bought the new truck, he had the family in mind.  Well, he mainly had me in mind.  Besides being more comfortable to take on long road trips, I could easily drive it when it snowed and when I had things to haul.

Belted Freedom

Hunter is having a little problem with her daily bus ride. Evidently she doesn’t feel the need to sit in her seat while she is on the bus. Since the girls both ride the same bus everyday, we gave them permission to tell us if anything happened on the bus…it wouldn’t be considered tattling. I don’t like tattling.…

The hinge

It's 2 am and I'm soaked.

Is this a lively, lurid missive promoting great sex in the middle of the night? NOPE

Is this a discussion of an unfortunate side effects of seratonin uptake medications used for deep and profound depression? NOPE

Is this the launch of a tirade over the indignity of perimenopausal nightsweats? NOPE

It's about a little known feature of toilet design--the hinge. Yes, there is a hinge that works in two directions, one to lift the… Continue

WV moms combat bulky coats with innovative outerwear: Babycapes

No responsible parent would ever knowingly put their child in harm’s way while traveling in a vehicle, but this winter, many parents will do just that merely by dressing their children for cold weather.

Martinsburg, WV, mom, Elizabeth Hostler, was shocked to learn that she was putting her daughter, Andy, at risk every time she put her into her infant… Continue
