Since my son was 16 months old, he loved laying his head on anything to rest. Racing over to where I was sitting, feeding his baby brother, he did the abrupt toddler stop, and rested his head on my lap.  At the time, I had a burp cloth ready for after the feeding.  When I reached down to use it, my sweet boy's head was laying on it, eyes drowsily shutting.  He looked…

Learn the Importance of Monitoring Your Child’s Internet and Social Media Activities

If you children are using the Internet it is important as a parent to keep them as safe as possible. There are many dangers on the Internet that most kids don’t understand or care to understand because they are naive. They think that everyone on the Internet is who they say that they are and don’t feel as if anyone can really harm them, when in reality this is far from the truth. There are predators searching online for tweens and teens looking to mislead them down the wrong path. Also, many…

Scary Night At The Hotel

Do you believe in ghosts?  Hmmmm....

Through Hotwire.com we booked Silverado Resort and Spa. This place is beautiful and can be spendy.  (Booking through Hotwire.com lessened the cost :-> ) The main part of the resort is a beautiful building, surrounded by a golf course, tennis courts, restaurant and spa across the street.  The rooms are not so much hotel rooms as they are, what they call, cabanas.  Each place has its own entrance, your own little home.  We were escorted to…

Oh No, My Mom Is On Facebook!

Happy Belated Mother’s Day!  As a mom, you know how hard it is to stay connected to your teen—especially if your teen has a busy online life in addition to all the activities and events they are participating in offline.  I encourage parents to be involved in the online communities of their teens—especially when it comes to Facebook.

“Friending” your child on Facebook is just the first step.  The next step is making sure you keep this “Friend” connection alive and…

Leave My Computer Alone!

I count myself lucky that my husband, sister and brother-in-law are all computer savvy.  I can only get by on the day to day things.  If something goes wrong like, it doesn't boot up, it's slow or just won't work.  I can't do anything about it.  There have been a few times were the hardware stopped working and I had to wait until my husband came home.  Continue

Online Reputation: Tools and tips to manage effectively

Recently, a friend told me about a negative incident she had while dining at a large restaurant chain. Her waitress was very rude and inattentive. By the time her meal arrived, her colleague had finished eating. The last straw was realizing her steak was prepared wrong. Angrily, she took out her I Phone and sent out a tweet to her followers about her…

A Hand at the Small of the Back

mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-fareast-language:EN-US"">One of my favorite movies

is Notting Hill, partly

because it stars Hugh Grant and he is British sexy which the anglophile in me

house. We have an alarm system that

religiously gets set every night before we go to bed…and we have a dog…a dog

that has a strong heritage of German watch dog in him.
