If Our Hair Is Our "Crowning Glory", Why Do We Punish It?

I would guess that since the dawn of time, women and probably some men too, have gone to great lengths to care for their hair (no pun intended).  Some of them wore wigs, presumably to protect their hair from intense sunlight, and others used a variety of methods to deal with everything from normal dirt, to graying and even hair loss.  Folks back then were pretty careful about their hair and only used natural ingredients because, well, that’s all they had.

Dry Shampoo Saves the Day

Dry Shampoo used to have stigma attached to it, seen as the lazy person’s answer to hair washing. I first used dry shampoo about 19 years ago, when pregnant with my first child. I was so debilitating-ly nauseous and weak that I couldn’t phantom the idea of keeping my arms above my head long enough to shampoo my hair. pulled out. This is one of the reasons I've been keeping my hair in a

bun for so many months. I've try the dermatologist prescribed stuff,

Clobex Shampoo, 4 oz bottle,… Continue

Toxic Chemicals in Your Baby’s Shampoo

When my children were babies, I never suspected that there were toxic chemicals in their baby shampoo. I figured that these companies had been around for decades and could be trusted to be safe.

Well, I was in for a shock when I discovered that not only was baby shampoo unsafe, but so was baby bath, baby lotion, and baby powder. Now my mind was reeling – what was in MY shampoo and body wash? What about all the other personal care products my family and I used on a daily basis?… Continue
