Like most women, I love shoes. Shoes make – or break – the outfit. Shoes are faithful. They will always fit and remain the same size no matter the size fluctuations in other areas of your wardrobe. Belts especially.
Whole fairy tales are written about shoes and endless numbers of Pinterest boards are dedicated to shoes. I know I’m not…Continue

The snow is falling outside and all I can do is long for the Spring-like weather of last week. The weather was so mild that I donned my new shoes and went hunting for the signs of Spring in my garden.…Continue

Footwear is just as important for toddlers as they are for moms! I like to mix up Noah's shoes depending on his outfit and these are our favorites as they are comfortable, lightweight, goes with a variety of clothes and easy to put on and take off.…Continue

** Just hearing the word "lice" makes my head itch.
** A freight train accompanied by a brass marching band would be quieter than my children.
** Halloween decorations make me happy.
** Sun-baked dog poop is anything but easy to scoop.
** People actually eat fried Kool-aid without being paid to do so. …Continue

I have a new craving this fall. It’s hitting me hard. I’ll need to satisfy it soon…It’s for a desert boot, with updated styling à la 2011.
FYI, the Desert Boot is now 62 years young. This enduring style with the crepe sole has many fans. My sister and I were among some of the early fans. I remember us both sporting a pair of the “originals” (but we didn’t need to call them that back then…) as little girls and feeling very cool in a tomboyish and powerful sort of way.
And now is…Continue

We love to support companies that do great work here and abroad. By now, we are all now quite familiar with (and wearing) Toms Shoes and we love the great work the company does around the world (Did you know that Toms does eyewear now, under the same One-for-One principle). In fact, we…Continue

I love to travel. I hate to look like a tourist. Especially in a metropolitan setting (it’s a whole other style discussion if I’m going to trek up and down the Grand Canyon). The ubiquitous camera is the first dead giveaway. And then the shoes. The comfortable, sensible walking shoes. Might as well have TOURIST tattooed in all caps on your forehead, right? You’re with me, I know it. It’s not that I need to wear 3 inch heels when I’m…

Once upon a time,
not so long ago,
a little Roman princess was born in a small family with two dogs and a lot closets full of high heels shoes.
She was kind of happy when she found out that her brand new family was a real mess.
They had a lot to learn about her.
So did she about them, anyway.

Among many other things, this economy has thought us about buying quality over quantity. Buying things that will last past the trends and fads and that will endure triumphantly over the wear-and-tear. This is what French women have always done with their fashion and accessories choices. Their expensive but few yearly purchases are considered investments pieces: the classic designer handbag, the impeccably cut jacket and the shoes. Ah, the shoes…
If you have…
