Surviving mashups and meltdowns

I am sitting at my computer, listening to my son play a few feet away from me. (Yes, I know I should be standing.) He is singing a brilliant mashup of "Frosty the Snowman," "Abracadabra," "Little Red Caboose," and "All I Want for Christmas Is You." (Trust me; it's brilliant.) He sings a few lines of one song, then moves…

The Awesome Power of Music

In my family, we are serious, music-loving fools.  Now, granted, none of us can actually play an instrument (well, not yet anyway!), but we sure as heck appreciate people who can.  Yep, we dig it so much that it's generally playing in our house in some form or fashion 24/7.…

Cute Video of Landon Playing Guitar and Singing to his Teddy Bear

My first video on my blog, Dagmar's momsense -- I’m exited! This is one of my favorite videos I have shot of Landon so far. It was shot in our old home.

He is about 2 1/2 years old here and is serenading his teddy bear, Manhattan. Since Landon has always been very musical and loves guitars, Don bought him this little ukulele. He is pretty talented, don’t you think? I love how he keeps singing and singing; it’s so cute :)

Gosh, do I miss those curls . . . They never came… Continue

I Was the Last to Know

You know what’s sad and funny at the same time? It’s when you discover that something you believed to be true about yourself, beyond a shadow of a doubt, isn’t true at all. It’s especially funny when that thing you believed was flattering, like a special talent you thought you naturally possessed, but, in fact, was non-existent. Introduction

Gee, thanks to everyone who has so warmly welcomed me to the blogging world! You are all very gracious and I am excited about sharing on here.

I'll start off with a little about myself and my daughter.

I am a single mother (though I am in a serious relationship with a guy who has a son). I work as a teacher at a middle school here in Ohio. I love Ohio (HUGE BUCKEYE fan), but I hate the cold weather. I enjoy watching my daughter play whatever sport she is playing at the… Continue

Thursday, March 6, 2008 Inspiration

You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht

Your hat strategically dipped below one eye

Your scarf it was apricot

You had one eye in the mirror as you watched yourself gavotte

And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner

They'd be your partner, and....

You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you

You're so vain, I'll bet you think this song is about you

Don't you? Don't you?

You had me several years… Continue
