I cannot be the only one...who is amazed at their child's lack of ability to just simply get out the door in a timely fashion. Our school mornings have been hectic whirlwinds of velcro shoes, backpacks, and impromptu bicycle riding in the garage, adding up to a rushed and stressed out Mama that wants to throw in the towel. Just recently though, I've noticed that it seems like we might have finally ironed out the morning wrinkles, and have been arriving at school ON TIME.

I cannot be the only one...who is ready for their little one to head back into the halls of knowledge (or at least of crayons and construction paper). Today, though I am thankful that the Southern California weather permitted us to take to the streets and walk our little hearts out...please visit me at I Cannot be the Only One...for the rest of my Thankful Thursday.…Continue

I cannot be the only one...who feels obligated to have a list that shows all my gratitude ready at a moments notice to share with those around me on Thanksgiving. Please don't misinterpret my sense of obligation with being ungrateful, I am very, very thankful for the many people and the things in my life, I am just not fond of an on the spot listing of those things (sometimes in front of a decent sized audience). To prepare myself for this spotlight on Thanksgiving I decided to put together…Continue

This craft was not intended to be a Thanksgiving key chain. Matter-a-fact, it started off as a turkey headband. You know, those really cute turkey feathered headbands?
When I realized I didn’t have any 11×17…Continue

Relationships are so disconnected these days that I often find myself stopping to wonder where exactly we went wrong. I remember growing up as a kid every Christmas my parents would receive so many cards that most of all the doorways in the house would be decorated from top to bottom with tons of Christmas cards they’d received from family and friends. However, those days have long since passed. Just this past Christmas my parents received 2 Christmas cards. The irony is that…

I was reading "All Things Bright & Beautiful" by Herriot while putting Henry to bed tonight and got to the part about this being the best time in your life and you don't realize it. When your children are young and all the wonderful
discoveries and pure joy that can be found amidst the sleep deprivation, revolving diaper changes and temper tantrums.
I just HAD to hug Henry then and I said, "Thank you God for my son" and absolutely, whole-heartedly meant it right then. Henry…Continue

This week, I’m thankful for the beauty and wonder of spring. Just when the days seem to begin heating up, a chilly, foggy day rolls in. Misty clouds float by outside, weaving between the trees out back. (Our home is at 5,000 feet, so we’re actually in the clouds.)
So, today is a day for us to cheer sun-filled days! Cheers to the Golden Poppy!…

This week, I’m thankful I can now say, “Good bye, Schmorl’s Node!” Although I know that each node is still actually there in my back, at least they’re no longer inflamed and making life uncomfortable. Who would’ve thought that adjusting from cup size C to cup size H when Glenn arrived could cause back pain?!
Thankful for my…Continue

This week I’m thankful for rhythm, patience (well, most of the time), and my three children.
Yes, we’re officially outnumbered. And yes, we’re loving it…most of the time.
I’m also thankful for my warm baby, snuggled up in bed with me. He’s found his smile now…though I’ve yet to capture it on film!…
