10 Tips to Successfully Potty Train Your Toddler

A few months ago we purchased a potty seat for my son, he was starting to show interest in potty training.  He has been watching other kids and following us to the restroom for a few months now.  After I purchased the potty seat a few months ago, I tried putting my son on the potty.  I knew that it was still a bit early and didn’t quite show all of the…

13 Signs that Your Toddler Is Ready to Start Potty Training

A few weeks ago, I decided that it was time to let my son pick out a potty seat.  We choose to get a potty seat that easily fits on the regular toilet, so that I wouldn’t have to retrain him to use the big potty once he had potty training down.  Besides that the daycare he attends also uses a potty seat…

This past weekend I attended my Sister-in-Laws baby shower.  She is expecting a baby boy in May and I can’t wait to meet her newest addition.  The shower was a success. Mom and dad to be got showered with gifts to make their new baby feel loved and welcomed.

The room was decorated with a jungle theme and her cake was so cute.…

Rascal Found the Toilet Paper and Made a Huge Mess

Rascal was still perched on the motion sensor when I went to bed last night and he seemed happy sitting up high watching the kids.  I didn’t hear him sneak out last night to head to the North Pole. The baby woke up around 1:30 early this morning and Rascal was no where to be found.  When I finally ready to go back to bed, Rascal was sneaking back into the house.  I told Rascal good night and that I would see him in the morning.

Come see the…

The Day My Daughter Spared WAY More Than A Square

You know you're up a shit creek when your kid comes out of a public bathroom after ten LONG minutes and says, "Uh, can you come in here and help me, Mama?"  You might as well just take a deep breath, roll up your sleeves, and prepare for the worst.  I speak from experience because I dealt with this very same scenario over the weekend when I secured my status…

The Shandle Review & Giveaway! (5 winners)

We are right in the middle of potty training and I was JUST thinking the other day how gross it is that the boy is always touching all over the potty to lift up the toilet seat. So when I got the opportunity to review the Shandle (toilet seat handle) I thought, "What a neat and functional idea!" Not only does it prevent "Easy" from touching the toilet seat, but its also a cute constant reminder to wash his hands! Love it! These even make great gifts! Here's what the website says about the… Continue

The hinge

It's 2 am and I'm soaked.

Is this a lively, lurid missive promoting great sex in the middle of the night? NOPE

Is this a discussion of an unfortunate side effects of seratonin uptake medications used for deep and profound depression? NOPE

Is this the launch of a tirade over the indignity of perimenopausal nightsweats? NOPE

It's about a little known feature of toilet design--the hinge. Yes, there is a hinge that works in two directions, one to lift the… Continue

No Electricity!

Can you imagine living with no electricity. Here in New England, many of us are living without electricity, water, lights, toilets:)

I think people are doing quite well overall; many going to hotels, many staying with relatives, others staying home in the cold and visiting those that have the essentials.

We went without for one day. So blessed was I, that the Lord took care of my dilemna. I was having my first women's tea party from my church (my husband is the pastor) and my thirteen… Continue
