Virtuous Lip Gloss - Positive Words for the Lips

I could certainly relate to Sara Buntrock as she talked about her tween daughter when I met her this last January at a gift show. Being a mother of a tween myself (any child between the age of 7 to 12 is considered one), I know that they start having very mature tastes at a very early age (thank you Hanna Montana/Miley Cyrus and iCarly/Miranda Cosgrove).

Make-up is definitely one area that young girls love to explore. Although I do not encourage my young daughters to wear makeup, I…

The Princess Movement

When I had my first daughter, I vowed to never ever subscribe to the ever popular princess movement!  I have been against it through and through.  The whole princess thing has been a pet peeve of mine. It brings to mind images of obnoxious, entitled, spoiled little girls.

I have to tell you though that I… Continue

Bringing Up Girls

Our little girls are growing up in such a difficult time.  Bombarded by mixed messages from the media, school and their friends about who they ought to be, our task as parents is to guide them and help them sort through it all.

I have started reading "Bringing Up Girls" by James Dobson.  With two…

Health: Tone It Up

Starting this year one of my resolutions is to bebsnd stay in shape. Now I know I could say I'll work out everyday but with caring care of LJ that just isn't going to happen. If it does some weeks great but if not oh well but my resolution is that it has to be at least 3 times a week.

So i was looking at different ways to get my exercise in either in the morning, nap time or after little msn is in bed. So my friend told me about tone it up. One of course the girls on the page or… Continue

WOULD YOU STOP FOR THROW-UP?

Two

years ago, this week, after a lil Christmas break, we were leaving an

Orlando hotel. As we were walking through the lobby to our car, I was

carrying our 3 yr old because he had a fever. There were a lot of

people--it was check-out time for the guests & the hotel was hosting

a convention. Without warning, Andy…

Teething! and other happenings

My little guy started teething and its the worst thing in the world. I dont know what to do sometimes and he gets so antsy cause I cant help him. I have tried orajel, teething rings and at times they work but

other times he just gets mad and goes on his marry way. He is so cute!

I guess its something we all have to go through and to be honest I am glad I am home to be able to take care of him and help him through this.

He is a true blessing in my life and I am blessed to he…

BROKEN. AND TELLIN' IT LIKE IT IS.

I gotta be honest with ya, I am a repeat sinning offender. I wake up in the morning & have my quiet time with God. I ask Him to forgive me for the things I know I screwed up & to forgive me for the things I didn't know I did. And then? I go & I screw up again! As long as I have time left on life's watch, I'm gonna screw up, screw up again… Continue

Emotional Momma

Whole story here..

Part of becoming a mommy is having to think for someone other than yourself. You have to think what's best for your child, how a decision will affect them now and in the future. I had to make a VERY hard (for both myself and Jaliyah) decision recently, which also contributed to my short absence.

One of the decisions, that I am sure many of us have faced, is whether you and your SO should… Continue

Dressed Down Day? OK!

I am a full believer that how you present yourself physically is a

reflection of who you are and how you feel about yourself. I dress the

way I dress and I apply my make up because it makes me feel good. I also

dressed the way I dressed and applied my make up because I thought that

was what Kevin liked, too. I do ultimately dress myself FOR myself but I

have to say I do like dressing for my man, too. There is no man on this

planet that I care about looking good for… Continue

I'm Happy. I'm Sad.

Today was the day for my girls to return to school. I now have a 7th grader and a 4th grader.

Yes I'm happy to be back into the routine of a some-what quieter day (and I'm happy that I get the computer to myself!), but I'm also sad that they aren't here. That they are growing up... growing up so fast! 7th grade?! How in the heck did my oldest reach 7th grade already?!?

*heavy sigh*

I still feel like hanging outside their classrooms, waiting to see…
