The Trimesters of Life - SAHM Project - Entry Six

Pregnancy and I have a love/hate relationship.

I am not one to have an easy time with pregnancy in the first

trimester. I'm the mama with her head in the toilet, the trash can, the

parking lot of Target, the random grocery bag I find lying in my car.

It's just not a pretty thing. There is no beauty, no poise, no food

left in my stomach. But it is also during this time that I am most

excited at the prospect of this new little life inside of me.

My… Continue

You are the EX: Here are the rules

Forget dating rules. I now devoutly believe there should be Ex Factor Rules; a system of rules and guidelines that the EX must follow once he's screwed himself out of a great relationship.

I take a humorous approach to presenting a list of rule that all ex-whatevers should follow to maintain peace in the relationship.

Read the full list of recommended Ex Factor Rules in "You… Continue

Dooce Inspired: The Case of Our Deranged Bed

I am reading Heather Armstrong’s (better known as dooce.com to millions who read her personal blog) book It Sucked and Then I Cried. It’s insightful, self-deprecating and hilarious, as I expected — I love her blog. So I thought I’ll post a dooce-ish entry inspired by Heather’s writing:

So we finally set up our bed tonight. We moved into this house about a month ago, and we still were sleeping on just the box spring and mattress. (Well, mostly Don sleeps in the bed and I… Continue

Pushing the limits push up challenge!!!

I have a love/hate relationship with push ups! I love them because I know they tone the core, arms, chest, and back. I know push-ups are very effective and make you super strong. I hate them because they have always been so hard for me. They're very uncomfortable. Even more of a reason I need to do them. When it comes to working out...

Hard=good. Hard=results

I'm always up for a good challenge. Anything that motivates me. So when RunningBetty challenged me to to 100… Continue

Rewards of Motherhood: A Mother's Day Edition

As it’s getting closer to Mother’s Day I am doing a lot of thinking about motherhood. Just as with the stages of pregnancy, it changes and shifts as we move through each new stage and phase of our fetus/infant/toddler/child/tween/teenager… ah heck, baby’s life.

I have recently come across two books on UrbanBaby.com that echo my own parenting style: Rattled! by Christine Coppa and Bad Mother by Ayelet Waldman. They are both written by witty, honest women who openly share the full… Continue

Breaking Up is Hard to Do

Breaking up is hard to do. Especially when you've done it several times with the same person...over and over again. But, this time, I'm done. I'm really really done. It. Is. Over.

And this time, it's you...all you, it's so not me.

The Bachelor, I'm sorry. It's just not working out anymore. My emotions, fragile as they already are,… Continue
