I’m a warrior, a road warrior. Well, among other things. Really. Just hear me out.
Being a family of six limits our options when it comes to travel. Heck, being a family of six limits us financially in several respects, because as you can guess six times any dollar amount usually equals much more than most people can afford.
Hence, over the last few years this family has become a band of road warriors, trekking it across…Continue

If you've ever wondered where all the germs go to party, I'm pretty sure I figured out their favorite stomping ground. Just visit any given water park, and you'll surely find a whole gaggle of germ dudes and germ dudettes gettin' their freak on. How do I know this? Cause my family just spent this past weekend at one, and I've got the mental scars (and the super sexy fever…Continue

Dear Liquor Store,
Perhaps you may have heard some rumblings about the impending summer vacation that's about to pounce on the town here any day now. Yes, kids will soon be out terrorizing the streets and pimping lemonade hardcore on every effing corner. They will be changing their clothes 357 times a day, thereby creating even more…Continue

** Cruise control scares the shit out of me.
** When you travel with kids, it's a trip. When you travel without them, it's a vacation.
** 99.9% of the water at water parks is a combination of urine and ick. Probably.
** Trying to get your kids to sleep at a water park is like trying to get a nun to pole…Continue

Dear readers, I'm back! I've just returned from a fantastic vacation to California to visit my family. It was quite the adventure getting there because it was D2's first plane ride. To say I was nervous about travelling across the country on my own with a toddler is an understatement. At almost 20 months, D2 is very active and loathes sitting in his car seat for more than a…Continue

Vacation = Relaxation? I'm not so sure. We have been home from vacation for 5 days, and I still don't feel "caught up". I am really tired, still haven't put all of our laundry away, and haven't fixed my hair since we returned home. I am however, soooo happy to be home! It is always nice to get away, but by the end of vacation, I am always excited to return to the comfort of my own home, and ready to eat home cooked meals. This year, we headed to Myrtle Beach for a week. We had an…Continue

The house is still. The only noise I hear is the hum of the refrigerator. I’m basking in the quiet and trying to make it last as long as I can. Because…today is the last day of school. A day I’ve been dreading more than a gynecological visit or a root canal.

Are you planning on traveling with your pets this summer? You may want to check out the Blanket Online ID for your feline or canine. The British Columbia based company uses the web to facilitate getting a lost pet home, no matter where they are in North America.

I am an average American when it comes to travelling. I have been to Europe a couple of times, and to Canada and Mexico. I would love to travel more, but with a child just out of a car seat, travelling has been somewhat limited.

The children have been out of school one day - yes, one day - and I can already feel my sanity slipping away. I'll miss it.
My daughter is already using the time off to ask a few questions, like: When can she get her own computer? Why is her brother being so annoying? Why can't she have a kitten? Or a puppy? And what does Santa have to do with Jesus, and what is the significance of a Christmas tree?
My son doesn't have any questions. He's an entertainer! Ta da!!! So…Continue

Sometimes in the middle of our deployments, we are allowed a few days off. It helps troops refresh themselves mentally, physically and emotionally. It's an essential priviledge that is intended to help our people maintain their sanity so that they can maintain focus on the mission. It is an awesome treat!
