My husband and I celebrated 10 years of marriage! Crazy, right?!
Well, we wanted to do something special to celebrate but our youngest was only four months and I’d be breastfeeding; so we decided spend our 10 year anniversary trip... with the kids. Not overly romantic, I know, but sometimes you gotta make the best of the situation. An all inclusive Jamaican resort was our destination of choice. We’d never been there before so it would still be special and it was all inclusive, which… Continue

Traveling with kids is a bit like opening up Forrest Gump’s box of chocolates – you never know what you’re gonna get. After all, even the best kids can be moody and unpredictable, whiney and unruly. So the best thing that you can do is pack plenty of patience, be (at least mentally) prepared for anything and have a few tricks up your sleeves.
Although the patience and mental strength necessary for traveling with kids is something that only you can muster, the tricks and techniques… Continue

I am loving this cooler monsoon weather I tell ya! A few weeks ago we got up to the low nineties here in Flagstaff, and I was very thankful to have our swamp cooler hooked up during those hot days. Now, I'm glad to see the rain, and the cooler temps. Its a nice 67 degrees right now at 2:30 in the afternoon, meanwhile the midwest is seeing a heat wave. …

The Hubs and I love staying at Hilton Hotels. The hotel we love staying at down in the valley is the Hyatt Place. We love it because of its huge flat screen TV's and I especially love it because of its Starbucks right inside the hotel. An awesome way to treat yourself while on vacation and you don't even have to leave the hotel. There's just something about a luxurious hotel room that makes whispered sweet nothings sound even sweeter. Add a touch of elegance, a hint of indulgence, and you've… Continue

Do you remember the first time you found out you were pregnant? You probably experienced all sorts of emotions ranging from joy to fright. But then you had 40 weeks to adjust. Although some of those 40 weeks were probably laced with nausea, back pain and all other discomforts that accompany pregnancy, you were still in a peaceful environment, living a quiet life with your partner. Then the labor pains began (or in my case, the c-section was scheduled) and somehow you… Continue

As we all feel the weight of the recession upon us, we may wonder if we should be planning a mom vacation with our mom friends this year. Some of us may not have the discretionary income to take a vacation. Others will certainly choose to take a vacation with their family over their girlfriends, if limited to one vacation. The economy is affecting everyone, even the Housewives of Orange County! Although they still seem to go on vacation, perhaps they are not staying at the Ritz. Or maybe… Continue

I landed in Las Vegas after catching the red-eye flight for a long weekend with some of my friends. I left home in the middle of the night, already feeling tired from being up with my three year old daughter for the past three nights due to a fever. I felt some remorse about leaving her with her dad to go to Sin City, but I knew she was in good hands. I arrived in Vegas feeling pretty tired and didn’t know how I was going to survive in the city that never sleeps.
The last time I had… Continue
