lly and I wanted to do something special for Daddy, just to show him how much we love him. We sat down to brainstorm a couple ideas of what to do and finally settled on making a collage for Daddy. The collage would contain things that he really enjoys and something that describes him. Although our Daddy is one who likes to wrestle and roll around on the floor, he also really enjoys dressing up and looking nice!

Is Valentine’s Day becoming a thing of the past? I hope not. When I was in junior high, a boy I hardly knew gave me a huge, ruffled, sparkly box of chocolates – in the middle of a bustling, loud hallway filled with 13 year olds, most of whom stopped to gawk at the exchange. I was mortified and thrilled at the same time, and I kept that box for a decade.…Continue

Oh my gosh! So this Valentine's Day was the sweetest, yet simplest for me. I think my husband secretly reads my blogs, because it's been a long time since he's actually took the time to plan something...he must've read my rant, right?
Anyhoo, Valentine's Day morning as I was getting the boys ready for school, he gave me my usually kiss and whispered that he had a spa day planned for me. For a normal girl, she would've probably jumped for joy. But me being an abnormal girl just…

Oh my. Valentine’s Day is this week and I am very very pregnant with not much energy by the end of the day to do much. We plan to stay home with our 2 little boys, cook a comforting dinner (bc it’s cold outside!), eat chocolate (that’s a given) and well, just love on each other…Continue

I have a thing about cream cakes. They're a huge weakness of mine, like Kryptonite to Superman, but instead of dying, they make you happy. Well, that is until you realise you ate one too many and have to bust out the fatty pants (jogging bottoms)!
But who cares? I mean, fatty pants…Continue

Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to fall in love all over again with your significant other? As one of Michael Leunig’s quotes states, “Love one another and you will be happy; it is as simple and as difficult as that.” My husband and I say ‘I love you’ probably 20 times a day and although we mean it, we may have lost some of the passion in the words. Sometimes…

It's Valentine's Day and my husband is under the weather. He actually stayed home from work, so I know he's feeling lousy. We don't have any special plans tonight, but I'm ok with that. On my negative days I call Valentine's Day a "Hallmark Holiday"... a day over-marketed so that people will go out and buy cards, spend money on over-priced meals in super-crowded…Continue
At this time of year, I enter a Walmart store and what do I see? I spy stuffed animals of all kinds, some pink, some black, some are monkeys, some are frogs, and some have hearts on them. I also see the greeting cards, pink blankets,…Continue

It’s Valentine’s Day, late 1990s… a young twenty-something couple is still in the bliss of early relationship sexytimes… before the babies, the mortgage, the vomiting dogs… I digress. Our heroine comes home from work a little early, excited for the “something special” her beloved has readied for her on this…
