I will never forget one incredible moment a few years ago while working a temp job. While finishing up some work, one of my co-workers asked why I never seem to get bothered by off the wall comments by others. That day was a special day. It was the day I realized that although I've always identified myself as…Continue

I have really been in a funk lately. My mind has been a whirlwind of emotions & thoughts. Ever since my youngest, my baby, turned 4years old I have been giving myself a hard time. I feel this pressure, entirely from myself, but pressure no less, to work. Not that I don’t work now, in fact I feel like this is the hardest I have ever worked in my life! My husband and I are a bit old school. He works outside the home. I do all the household chores, all things clothes and food…Continue

Since my son started school I have been so curious to find out what he's up to every day. Of course I ask him, “What did you do today?” but there are no prizes for guessing his answer. I have tried the trick of arriving early and casually hanging around outside while I innocently glance inside the classroom. Murphy's Law: I could say every child in the class except mine. Asking the teachers doesn't provide much insight either. Yes they answer me but it is vague. I want details, I want the…Continue

I remember my oldest son had a lot of problems when he was a baby with frequent upper respiratory infections, wheezing, difficulty breathing, and asthma. I never found out what triggered his asthma problems but I am assuming it is because he has sensitivity to environmental allergens. In fact, now he only has to use an inhaler when he exercises outdoors,…Continue

Yesterday afternoon when my son got into the car, he was asking his sister if she ever put salt on ice. I didn’t realize that he was talking about putting the salt and ice combination on his skin. I just assumed that his science teacher was teaching them about temperature changes using salt and ice. Then this afternoon, I noticed a huge red spot…Continue

I didn’t get a chance to watch the VMA award shows on T.V. a few nights ago but I have seen clips of Miley Cyrus’s big performance. As a mom, I am outraged and feel as if this type of content shouldn’t be on prime time television. After all, many families…Continue

Checking out my garden this afternoon, I did my usually walk around on the patio smiling at the veggies plants and flowers that are growing well and speaking to them about the weather, their sexy leaves, and nice legs (stems) because I heard you're supposed to talk to plants. Don't judge me! Just after I open the screen door to speak to…

As school is letting out for the summer, many parents begin planning activities to keep their child busy over the summer. As a working mom, your child may go to daycare. If your daycare is similar to the one my kids attended, they go on field trips throughout the summer to keep the school aged children busy. If you don’t have a bottle of sunscreen…Continue
