en vacances: traveling with the toddler

http://hennablossom.com/?p=777 (<--to visit the post on: HENNA BLOSSOM | a work in progress)

Sorry we've been MIA for a few days. We slipped away from chilly Chicago to visit Oh SO sunny Florida. Nothing like a little natural vitamin D + family to reset and relax. ;) We're here with Mateo's adorable little cousins. Oh man, if you think he's cute...…

Fall in Love With Your Business and Create a Winning Team

It is thrilling to fall in love with your business and create a winning team to help it grow and thrive.  An interesting fact about human nature is that people work harder, stronger and smarter for loved ones than for strangers. Many entrepreneurs think of their businesses as their children, their offspring, or loved ones. Just as you would not leave your child in the care of just anyone, you should not trust your business…

Coloring is a Great Way to Spend Time With Your Child

Spending time with your children, especially, one on one time is important and makes them feel loved.  I have been trying to make sure that I spend time with my toddler because he is growing up way to fast.  I have a hard time getting down on the floor to play with him (due to my chronic back pain) so I have to be a bit more creative and find activities that work for me.  He loves to “draw”, which is his favorite thing to do these days.  So I scooped him up into my lap and grabbed the…

Maternity Photos Are A Great Way to Capture Memories of Your Pregnancy

When I found out that I was pregnant with my third child, words couldn’t describe how excited I was after the initial shock wore off.  It took us a while to become pregnant and though the timing might have been off slightly everything worked out.  I was blessed with a beautiful, healthy little…

How to take kids to a museum

I was quite young when my parents started taking me to different museums and I always enjoyed them. My imagination would start getting wild. I am a firm believer that museums are a great family outing. They are a chance to spend some time together, exploring, learning about the past, present or the future, trying new…

Facing Jason

No sleep is not an option for me. My sense of security is back in tact since I think we are on the same page in trying to work things out. I lean over and kiss his lips. I say goodbye and don’t hear a response before I walk out the door….not knowing what is in store next.

I text Jason the next day apologizing for leaving and explaining how he knows that his loud snoring keeps me awake.

He doesn’t reply. I text him again later in the day, and he doesn’t respond to that text…

Learn the Importance of Monitoring Your Child’s Internet and Social Media Activities

If you children are using the Internet it is important as a parent to keep them as safe as possible. There are many dangers on the Internet that most kids don’t understand or care to understand because they are naive. They think that everyone on the Internet is who they say that they are and don’t feel as if anyone can really harm them, when in reality this is far from the truth. There are predators searching online for tweens and teens looking to mislead them down the wrong path. Also, many…

Who Doesn't Love A Story About Kids Getting Kicked Off Planes?

Traveling with young children is stressful. Now we have to worry about getting kicked off planes and put on the front page news!

When they start talking about "children only" sections on planes, I'm totally for that. But only if we have a "jerks only" section as well!

Rascal Found my Change Jar and Left the Kids a Message This Morning

Rascal took off his diaper late last night and left it laying on the couch.  Thankfully, it wasn’t a stinky diaper.  I also had to help him clean the butt paste (diaper rash cream) off of his nose.  After, I got him cleaned up, he was ready to head off for his nightly visit with Santa Claus.  As usual, I didn’t hear him sneak back into our house.  By now, you have probably figured out that I am a deep sleeper.

Find out if my toddler found…

Rascal was Caught Acting Like a Baby This Morning

Last night when I went to bed, Rascal was acting pretty sneaky before he left to go visit with Santa.  He was wondering around the house looking for supplies that he was going to need for his next move.  Rascal found one of my son’s diapers, his wet wipes, and the butt paste (diaper rash cream).

Read my Toddler's reaction and find Photos of Rascal at…

Magnificent Museums: Indianapolis Children's Museum

The Indianapolis Children's Museum is the world's largest museum of its kind and a definite must-see attraction if you have kids. My kids loved everything about it and would like to go back as often as possible. Between the excellent dinosaur exhibit, train displays, indoor carousel and playhouse, dedicated toddler/preschooler…

Disney Planning DVD

If you are planning on visiting a Disney park and would like an overview of what each park and resort have to offer, I would encourage you to send for a free Disney vacation planning DVD. They provide the highlights of each park and give a glimpse into the various themes of all of the Disney property resorts.

Even though we just took a Disney vacation within the past year, my kids still ask to watch the DVD. I think it brings back good memories of their trip and gets them excited to…

Great 1-Night Trips: Dearborn, MI

Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village- Dearborn, MI

The Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum complex are a huge treasure trove of history and rich in educational value for the whole family. I have probably been there 5 or 6 times over the years as a child and adult and have always enjoyed it.

The Village is an all-day undertaking as you will have tons of things to see and do.  There are seven historic districts to visit in the village and…

The News Continued

Since his car is at my place, I offer to pick him up so he doesn’t have to take a taxi.

I arrive to get him. He gets in the car and asks again why I’m crying. I hand him the pregnancy test.

He looks at it and says….“Well, you got what you wanted a baby and no guy.”

I reply, “Yeah, that’s every girl’s dream.”

He then says, “If it’s real that is.”

“What are you talking about?”

“You could have used Kool-aid on the stick.”

My mind is reeling in…

Do You Think All Teens Should Experience Being a Parent for A Few Days?

My daughter sent me a text message on her way home from school, don’t worry she isn’t texting and driving, and said “guess what”.  As a parent, I was thinking the worst.  She said she was given a “baby doll”.  I automatically knew that she was given a “real baby” simulator to take care of for a few days.  Read more at: Uplifting Families…

ASTC Passport Program

A great way to gain access to hundreds of museums nationwide is thru the ASTC (Association of Science-Technology Centers)passport program. Purchase a pass at one of the participating centers for free or reduced admission to other centers throughout the country. This is an excellent resource for traveling families.

We purchase our passes thru the Charlotte Harbor Historical
