Do you notice wrinkles on your face after you wake up in the morning. They are called ‘sleep lines’ and become deeper and deeper with ages. Elizabeth Bloch, who was growing in Mumbai, India, made this problem her business. Why did she do this? She started to notice that in her 40s all methods she used…

The stigmas of womanhood

I was in the store with my son, when a woman remarked at how well behaved he was being. I smiled (because I was filled with mommy happiness at the compliment) and agreed - he is a really great little guy. Then, the conversation took a turn for the worse.…

Tasty Fat Burning Foods On The Cheap!

Hi everyone!

In this blog post I wanted to give a shout-out to fat burning foods and how they can help you slim down fast without breaking the bank. I see so many people get caught up buying pills and programs that cost the earth and do little (if anything) to improve your health and lose weight. It's total rubbish and it drives me nuts! Yes, there are genuine products that can help you lose weight, like whey/vegan protein powder, but there's also no shortage of rubbish. The good news…

My interview with a real life super woman

Being a woman is no joke. Add a newborn to the mix, and you've got sleep deprivation, feeding obstacles and overwhelmingly emotional hormonal roller coasters. The best advice I received as a new mom was to find support, whether online, family, friends. Mine came in the form of the…

The Day I Discovered My Husband's Side Chick

The day I discovered my husband’s side chick, I cried.  I’ve  known my husband for quite some time.  We met when I was 15 and 16, just right outside of our homes.  From the moment of that first hello, I couldn’t help but to feel butterflies.  After we parted ways, I went to Howard University and he went to  San Jose State University,I never really imagined that I would see him again.  Needless to say life is funny.  After 8 years  we finally reconnected and I felt like that little…

The Beautiful World of Egg Donors

Having the eggs to donate is a wonderful gift. Some people dismiss it as nothing. They think that their eggs are there naturally so there is really nothing to celebrate about it. But if I tell you that this egg that you dismiss as nothing can give birth to a new life and bring joy to another family, you’ll never see eggs in the same way you did before.

This is the reason why many…

DID I JUST LIE TO THE DMV?

Recently I went to the DMV to get my new Illinois license. The man behind the counter was extremely chatty for a state worker, and we exchanged pleasantries and conversation while he processed my paperwork. He told me about his wife and his plans to move to Colorado soon, I shared a story about my kids and our recent move from Pittsburgh.

We were simpatico. Until he asked me what my weight was, and I lied right to his face.

Now, I know I’m not the first woman to fudge my…

Mash-Up: Fictional Career Women on TV

Some of my favorite television shows are those set in the workplace.  I love getting a sneak peek into worlds I haven’t experienced. And, since I haven’t worked regularly in an office for many years, I’m fascinated by the dynamics between the characters.  Now, I know this is fiction. A lawyer or editor on a TV show is going to be exaggerated, dramatized, too snarky or silly or just plain scary (like Glenn Close’s character on Damage). We are looking for entertainment…

This chick hates moms and isn't shy about it.

No not me. This chick, Amy Glass.

This article popped up on my newsfeed this morning and as Luke was tossing his bananas and cereal onto the dogs back I thought, what a lovely morning read, lets see what she has to say...

One paragraph in and I was both giggling to myself at the stupidity of it all and just letting her words fuel my hate fire for her…

THIS Is Why She Has A Problem With Bloggers - Blood, Sweat and Heels

The latest reality show from the Bravo network is Blood, Sweat and Heels.  Set in New York and Brooklyn this show features the lives of six women.  A cast member has a web log and in a post she included her feelings on a recent gathering of the six women.  While at a brunch, hosted by one of the women in this series, questions were asked by the host as a means to start conversation.  Questions like "Do you think all men cheat?", "Do you think women can rule the world?"…

Things I've Learned This Week

** The weatherman seems to be telling us all to go back to our warm beds until April.

** It would be AWESOME if I was the octopus my children seem to think I am.

** When you tell your husband to pick up "holiday-ish" paper plates at the grocery store, you evidently need to…
