Sometimes it takes getting away to come back to yourself again.
What better way to raise your spirits than to spend a carefree night with good friends. I suggest an old fashioned sleepover, just like we use to do as kids. Gather up the girlfriends and host a night in pj’s and sweats. Order pizzas,…

When I started this blog recently, my first post was about the quest that many women go on in order to "have it all."
What exactly does that mean?
Well, for the most part, it means that http://bit.ly/gsU2EN

Perchance? Fat chance. Sleep is not happening in my household.
The fantasy of a good night's sleep is a distant memory as I consider keeping my eyelids open with toothpicks. Yea, it's that bad.
On a recent work night, I had the honour of being woken up at 1:24am, 3:27am, 4:17am and 5:20am respectively. The last occurrence was the one where I threw in the proverbial towel, made myself a huge pot of coffee and jumped in a steaming shower with hopes that … Continue

Many years ago, I watched Alfred Hitchcock's The Wrong Man
based on a true story about a man, Manny Balestrero, falsely accused of armed robbery in the early part of the 1950s. While the story in itself is terrifying to think about, what struck me and stays with me to this day is Manny's wife's reaction… Continue

I became a Social Worker right after I graduated from University. When my husband was first transferred to the States, I had lots of time one my hands so I decided to try yoga. After my first yoga class I was hooked and became immersed in the yoga community to a point where I was offered a job and soon worked my way up to a senior position at a large yoga… Continue

"Kailie, stay with me."

Let's admit something right now, ladies. Birth control should be up to us, shouldn't it? We're the ones that will have to carry a child for the next 9 months if the method fails to do it's job. So, I think that means we should be able to choose which one suits us the most, right? Right!
Now, most of my readers are… Continue

I'm sure you're familiar with the five love languages: words of affirmation, quality time, acts of service, gifts, and touch. We all feel most loved when people provide us with one of these 5 things. If we can learn how to provide our spouse (and kids) with their love language, everyone is much happier.
