Before I go any further I need to admit something - I used to make fun of people who blog. I apologize if this explanation offends any of my fellow bloggers ;). Continue
I just didn't get the point of blogging. My thought was, why do people think anyone cares about what they have to say? Talk about being full of it! I mean, it's one thing if you're sharing new data, known facts, you know, useful information.....it's another if you're just spouting out randomness.
I was really…

I make no claims about being a fabulous mommy. I am new to the job, and I am loving it, but it is damn hard to fill the mommy shoes! Working from home, although much more flexible than an office job, has proven to be quite the challenge. Sure, I am getting the hang of it, and loving the fact that I can spend most of my day with my husband and son. The challenge I refer to is in terms of maintaining some "flair" in the day-to-day; after all, we work-at-home moms are superwomen, right? So we… Continue

When I walked out those doors I said I wasn't going back and I meant it.
I didn't know how it was going to happen and apart of me feared facing the reality of what would happen if it didn't but THANK YOU GOD
for hearing my prayers... and I mean I PRAYED!
I still can't believe it's real!
I just couldn't do it anymore. If I said that part of me wasn't… Continue

name) the sheep, because she was a clone. People were up in arms thinking that the human counter part to cloning sheep could not be too far away.
I can't help thinking, why is this a BAD idea?

It’s so easy to turn inward when we think about motherhood and what it means and how we do it every day. But even celebrities are not immune to trying to do it all – of course, their circumstances and list of daily to-do’s are different, but in essence, maybe not so much, as evidenced by… Continue

A beautiful blogger and great friend of mine wrote a post today about being a fake stay at home mom (during break as a teacher.) She got a lot of well-deserved hits, and I laughed at myself, saying, "I'm going to post where you post, claiming that SAHM is a career." Continue
But, then, I thought, what the heck, self? SAHM is a career.
She writes: As a teacher "for several weeks out of the…

I am so excited! My job was eliminated on November 17th! To some this
may come as devastating news. For me, it was music to my ears. Besides
giving me the opportunity to leave a job I didn't like and was
miserable in for the last 4 years, now my dream of becoming a
work-at-home mom is a reality. I simply love my new schedule. I get to
take the kids to school. Then I come home and start working at about
9:00... feet up, tv on, jammies on, laptop on lap. I take… Continue

Jay blew into our lives like a whirl wind. He was my cousin’s fiancé’s cousin (kinda confusing, I know) and we met because my cousin lived in the apartment upstairs from me.
We started talking slowly – my car got stuck in the snow a few times and he would come down and get me out.
Then we started actually hanging out, and the first time he came over, we talked nonstop for 4 hours! It was great. I was actually happy when I was with him, and I felt so… Continue

Those who desire to work at home often want to do so because they want flexible hours, to spend more time with family and be there own boss
However, it's difficult knowing when to stop working when you're just starting
out. In an office environment, your time was planned. You had a time you
resumed at work, your lunch hour, etc.…

After being out of work, and living on one income plus a small amount of unemployment, we decided that I needed to go back to work. Violet was older, she was more adjusted and a little less clingy. We decided to
give it a try - again.

When I was younger, I never thought that I would be a stay-at-home mom. I had thought that I would finish school, work for a while, get married and then have kids. I guess I never really gave much thought to
what would happen after I had my children, but I also don’t think that it
would’ve mattered because from what I have learned, nothing is like it seems on
Leading up to having my daughter,… Continue

I'm not sure if the lines have blurred because my work has taken over my life or because I haven't slept!
My work requires me to travel a lot. I live on the east coast, but have clients on the west coast, so I work late a lot. I have a very unusual job in that I work with celebrities and people in the film and publishing field.
I love to travel. I love creating videos. I love reading and writing. So, my work and my hobbies are nearly one and the… Continue

So I write this as my two little ones are settled downstairs watching Blues Clues and playing – well when my oldest isn’t yanking her toys from her little sister’s hands! Let’s be honest, if they weren’t watching TV, I wouldn’t be up here in the loft getting some work done.
This from a mom who swore that her kids… Continue

When it comes to holidays and giving gifts to your co-workers, sometimes that can become a bit uncomfortable if you don’t know much about your co-workers’ private lives. The last thing you want to do is give a lousy gift and become known as the “lousy gift giver” in your department.
Why not suggest to your co-workers a Christmas gift card
swap? Sort of like the Secret Santa gift… Continue

When I made the decision that I needed to find something I could do from home that would help us out with our finances I never really imagined how much “work” it actually entailed! I have been working from home now for almost 2 years, and it has been a huge learning experience for me.
It really sounds great when you think about working from home - really, how much better can it get? You don’t have to commute, deal with traffic, gas, getting up early,…

I have been misplaced by a weak economy – trapped in a small house with three children, stripped of my self-worth and blind folded to any clear direction. Though I have been a stay-at-home mom for nine years, five of them have been spent trying to build a career. Unlike most moms I didn’t choose to be a stay-at-homer; I was cast into the role when the $800 a month daycare bill was pushing us toward the poorhouse. Since landing this role I have been fighting to eke out a… Continue

September is here...the season is about to change, and before we know it the summer heat will turn into the brisk Fall. With the fall comes school, and the need to get into a new groove to transition effectively into this new season.
I have found that with my son transitioning into Kindergarten, I am seemingly running around more and under more pressure. No, longer do we just get up in the morning to go to Daycare. Now we have to catch the bus, which means I have to go into… Continue
