I have a love/hate relationship with my job. The company I work for, in general, is excellent. My coworkers are some of my favorite people. The pay is wonderful, the work is easy (typically easy- there are anomalies), and the benefits are plenty. While I could do this job in my sleep, it can become tedious and frustrating.
I work at a contracted call center of a government agency responsible for reasearching and disseminating information about… Continue

Most of you probably already know this, but for those rare few who, like me, didn’t know, here’s some information. Many bloggers out there want to make money. I know I do. I like to write so I thought I might be able to make a little change through writing. The problem is that now I want to get paid. Don’t we all? Yeah, really. There are many mom bloggers who will tell you not to work for free. So I get it. But how do you get paid by a reputable company? Well, you get a federal tax id… Continue

Not life. Not spirit. Not soul. My job. I quit my job and I have no regrets.
No job is perfect, there are always little things here or there that could change. Sometimes workers might not see the “big” picture that a company does. One particular way is not always the best way and we have to rely on management, trusting they know what is best, for the smoothness of the company operation. It takes a lot of confidence… Continue

I feel super duper worthless this week. I swear I only work to bring home a paycheck – would be nice to work because I felt needed. Like the whole company would fall apart without me. My last job was like that – even my first job at Cracker Barrel was like that. Come to think of it – all my jobs have pretty much been like that. I was treasured…

For decades in American households the most dreaded morning sound was that of an alarm clock. Sometime between 6 and 7am a beep or radio music signaled that it was time to get up and head to work. But in the early 21st century two things have begun to change. First, the alarm clock is going off a little bit later. And second, instead of putting on suits and driving to work, people are heading to the basement in their pajamas and turning on their personal computers. These are the early days… Continue

Today I had a very surreal experience on my everyday commute to work. It is not often that this drive is cosmically metaphorical, it's not even fun, exciting, or interesting. It's Continue
typically just a boring stretch of road that leads to another boring
stretch of road, that leads me straight to my 8 hour prison cell.
Sedentary Land. Sit, type, file, email, talk on the phone. Ooops I'm
depressing myself!! Back to cosmic drive :)…
