HONESTLY? MY THOUGHTS ON EATING

In college--on a diet of beer & fast food--I shot up 6 sizes! After

college, I was determined to not let that happen again. 14 years later, I

thankfully haven't. Today, my determination is even stronger because

I'm ensuring the health of a family. Honestly, God gives me a joy for overseeing my fam's healthy

eating (in our hectic-schedules). Here's a few honest ramblings:

1. I… Continue

My Lil Judas the Betrayer :)

Today, my littlest man had his

Easter play
. He was none other than Judas. We were so proud of him,

as well as all the little actors & actresses. And a huge outpouring of gratitude to Miss Andie, who patiently &

graciously put it all together. It's our honor to have you enjoy this

little slideshow at… Continue

LeadHership in American Idol?

I've always been a "kinda" Idol fan. I kinda watch,

kinda follow, kinda care. There isn't a lot I take from Idol (as I have

the musicality of a brick wall), but I do appreciate the diverse

leadership styles among the judges. It's interesting to see how they
manage… Continue

My Kid's Memory Verses. Agh!

Every week, my 7 year old, DJ, has to memorize a bible verse. As a pastor, it pains me to say this, but he hates it. Tonight, for whatever reason, he was a real bear about it. But one thing that's cool is as DJ learns it, so does the rest of the family. Tonight, I had to laugh, when DJ started crying out of frustration & Andy spoke up & finished the verse for him. Here it is, in case you wanna learn it too:"Don't let anyone make fun of… Continue

For My Brother

Hey Bro,

I am hurting for what you are going through right now. It begs the universal question of, "why do bad things happen to good

people?" I am sorry for the pain that runs deep and the future that is

unknown. But I am writing to let you know that…

A Zit Saga

So Saturday, I noticed a small zit forming. "No

big thang," I thought to myself, "nothing a lil super-acid-compound

can't fix." And because the weekend was narrowly upon me, I decided to

apply about 10 applications of it Saturday night. On Sunday morning, I

woke up to something far from a zit. It looked like a

flaming-zit-inferno. It was 3 times the size,… Continue

Thankful for the Ones Not Like Me

As a mix breed of German, Irish & Italian, I'm about

as cracker-white-American as they come. I was born & raised in a

white 'burb in Middle-America & grew up on a steady diet of hot

dogs, Mac-n-Cheese & Frosted Flakes. I have pasty white skin, blond

hair, green eyes & my name shouts yankee - "Heather Michelle." But

since moving to Florida, God has opened up… Continue

Why the Cuban Has Stayed With Me For 11 Yrs

11 years ago, the Cuban & I said "yes" to become one & today we celebrate 11 years of that. Now we don't make a big, honkin' deal out of our anniversary. Don't make special plans; don't give lavish gifts. To outsiders, it may seem irreverent or unromantic. Not to us. The reason today is like any other--is to us--EVERY day is an anniversary. When you… Continue
