How much would you charge for your rabbit?

I had the pleasure of sharing my photos, tales, and bunnies with students at Whigham Elementary this morning.  They enjoyed seeing my bunny photos on the screen and hearing about them too.  Their favorite part was getting to see my 3 little bunnies and getting to pet one.  One cute little boy asked me what I would charge him for a bunny.  I told him that I brought them to show and they were not for sale.  He then said, "I have $4!"  How cute is that?

Thanksgiving in February

Hi Everyone:

We had our 'mini' Thanksgiving in February over the weekend.  My husband has 6 siblings, and they all have their own families that they spend the Thanksgiving holiday with.  My sister-in-law, Cara, started a tradition several years ago.  She felf that it was important for the siblings to have time together.  So, she prepares the traditional Thanksgiving meal, and brings it to my home in Febrary.  All the siblings that are available come and spend the weekend.  This gives…

Company's Coming

We're having company next week end, so I started cleaning today.  You know, the kind of things I don't do every week: cleaning windows, moving  and sweeping furniture, wiping kitchen cabinets.  I'll try to do a project or 2 each day and hopefully I'll be finished by the time our guest arrive.

The guest are family that we don't see but a couple of times a year.  We call this time together "Thanksgiving in February".  We have the traditional turkey, dressing, and all that goes with…

2012 with My Hare Line

I hope everyone is having a good January.  I have not been here very often.  Do hope to join in more in the future.  My bunnies are fine, except for the recent rainy day or 2.  They really don't like the rain.  We do need the rain, so I'm happy with that!   So, just recently I became a member of the Bainbridge Decatur County Arts Council at their annual meeting. I really feel honored to be asked to join.  There was a Artist Reception that same night at the Firehouse Center and…

school reunion

I attended a small school in Hopeful, GA, which is in the country in Mitchell County.  I completed through the 10th grade and the schools consolidated, so I graduated at Mitchell County High School in 1963.  I attended a class reunion at Hopeful tonight that was for anyone who had ever gone to school there.  When I got out of the car I thought to myself, "There's a lot of old people here."  Needless to say, I might have remembered maybe 20 people out of the 300 who were there. Sometimes when…

more bunnies

So, my husband has been locating good homes for some of our bunnies.  We have around 35, and our rabbit pen is overflowing.  So he has found homes for about a dozen.  Then....while I gave the bunnies their afternoon treat of apple and carrot yesterday, I saw 8 new little bunnies.  Well, really!

"My Hare Line" reading

I had a good time Monday at West Bainbridge Elementary School.  It is Literary Week, and the 4th grade teacher asked me to come and read my books at their 6:00 p.m. program.  My husband assisted me, by showing the book photos on their large screen.  He also brought 2 of our bunnies.  The bunnies were little angels and let both children and adults pet and hold them.  All in all, it's was an awesome time.  Did I mention that they ordered 100 books for the 4th graders?  Awesome!  Since all of…

Gatlinburg

Last week I spent the week in Gatlinburg.  My sister and her husband were with us, and we really enjoyed that time.  Did a little bit of shopping in the Arts and Crafts Community area.  Bought a fall wreath for the front door and a few other things to decorate for fall.  Last year I decided to put my Christmas tree up for Thanksgiving.  We decorated it with pretty leaves.  I strung popcorn - ouch! I put pumpkins and colorful squash under the tree.  Loved it!

baby bunnies

We have 5 new bunnies!  Since the bunnies are in a pen and not in a cage, they did holes.  These babies were born in the rabbit hole.  They are covered with hair and their eyes are open.  Love to watch them hopping around.
