EClass: How to become a freelance writer

When I started my business, I had a handful of books to guide me. But what I really wanted was a guide - for someone to literally propel me through the process, hold me accountable and steer me in the right direction.

I’m so pleased to be able to offer this EClass to you in order to help you start your business, to be the guide that I was looking for once upon a time. I will be asking you questions and supporting you as you find the answers & as you take action - and I’ll be… Continue

My holiday gift to YOU

Okay - I never usually do things like this on my blog, but I'm feeling very taken by the holiday spirit - and wildly grateful for all that YOU give me by reading this blog, commenting with your brilliant and strong thoughts, telling your friends & colleagues about Writing Roads and being part of my community.

So, I'd like to give you a gift, but only one of you (even though I appreciate you all equally). But, it wouldn't be me if I made this really easy and un-fun. So here is… Continue

how's your needless consumption? gifts for kids

This is my one and only post plugging something for the holidays…I think.

My daughter turned three last week, and there was a decision to be made: presents or no presents. Call me the grinch or any other name you come up with - but my kids have enough toys. Not only that, but they don’t even understand presents, or birthdays, yet.

now that’s smart marketing: BOB strollers

As you know, when I find something good, I sing like a canary. I simply can’t hold back. This is a twofer, a 2 in 1; hits my professional and my personal side. Drumroll…it’s a stroller.

I love when people do it RIGHT.

Inspired Marketing

The BOB company has a brilliant tagline: Built by BOB. Powered by Mom. But taglines are easy (when you have a good copywriter), it’s what you do… Continue

blog redesign: an advertising deal

Yes, you are still at the Writing Roads Blog, aka. Blogging Roads!

Last night my dear designer, Leslie Tane, surprised me by expanding my blog into three columns with a new theme called Amazing Grace, a lightweight, super-optimized WordPress theme packed with features (SEO, Adsense & Widget Ready) created by Vladimir Prelovac. I was thrilled as I’ve been itching for some more elbow room!

One impetus for this space-making was that I’ve been approached by several vendors… Continue

Eating Disorder or Just Starving?

I already know my answer...but a lot of women out there have no idea about theirs. For 12 years, I struggled with my weight, I binged, I purged, I didn’t eat, I suffered from chronic IBS, bloating, gas and pain, all I thought about was food, I loathed my body, I loathed myself.

At the time, I had several dietary rules/beliefs:

1. Eat as little fat as possible.

2. No dairy.

3. No meat.

4. Non-fat frozen yogurt doesn’t count as anything.

5. If it comes from the… Continue
