Fall in Love With Your Business and Create a Winning Team

It is thrilling to fall in love with your business and create a winning team to help it grow and thrive.  An interesting fact about human nature is that people work harder, stronger and smarter for loved ones than for strangers. Many entrepreneurs think of their businesses as their children, their offspring, or loved ones. Just as you would not leave your child in the care of just anyone, you should not trust your business…

Get a Loving Attitude Toward Your Work - Have Some Pride

It is wonderful to develop a loving attitude toward your work and having some pride in what you do. In my opinion, a good place to work is anyplace that pays a fair wage for a fair amount of labor. Based upon that definition, there are good places to work in almost every industry and almost every person has the ability to work for a good employer. Your job and how it is viewed is determined by you. It is important to have a sense of pride about the work that you do in order to have the…

Learn to Love Technology - Don't Reinvent the Wheel

It is terrific to learn to love all your technology can do so you do not have to reinvent the wheel. I am a big believer in the power of technology, that is no secret. I enjoy my gadgets. As a busy woman with a lot of things to do both personally and professionally each day, I need to find ways to get more done in less time and to be efficient in how I allocate and spend my time. I am fortunate that I can use technology to help me in my efforts to work smarter instead of merely…

Take Action Now and Get Rid of Shame

It is magnificent to take action now and stop being ashamed. People are often embarrassed by the fact that they make plans but never accomplish the things on their to do lists. It is particularly embarrassing to make one's plans public and not follow through with them. To save yourself from this embarrassment, take action now.

Take Action Now is a powerful idea. It means whatever your plan is, whatever it is you are supposed to be doing, start doing it, now. Once you have gone through…

Love Yourself - Happy You, Happy Family

I speak with many women on a daily basis. Women who do amazing and incredible things. They are bloggers, business owners, mothers, executives, teachers, marketers, librarians, just all kinds of women from all walks of life. They are so different in so many ways, yet at the same time, they have so much in common. One thing they all recognize is the need to start treating themselves as nicely as they treat others.…

A Good Attitude Makes Work and Home Problems Seem Better

Even though it is hard, it is fantastic to have work and home obligations.  Women who work have professional obligations that must be met on a regular basis. At the same time, any woman with a family has obligations to her family that must be met on a daily basis. For some people, attempting to balance these obligations is overwhelming.  For me, the solution to these competing obligations is getting dressed before I get out of bed.…

Love Work for the Adult Interaction

Human beings are inherently social beings. For the most part we enjoy being around people, talking with them, watching them, sharing ideas and experiences with them. Among other things, work gives us the opportunity for adult interaction.

However, there are other people watching them take action, move forward and reach incredible goals. Someone is watching you, so, be a good role model, take action now and be an encouragement to someone around you. Here is a secret sometimes neither you nor the people watching you realize you are…

Love Home - It Makes Work Worth Doing

It is fantastic to have a good home life because it makes going to work worth doing. For many people the biggest joy they have in life is the ability to come home at the end of a long day and get hugs and kisses from family members. It makes all the stresses of the day seem worthwhile when you have a loving home to return to each day.

The movie The Wiz had a great song about home. One of my favorite lines from the song is, "When I think of home I think of a place where there…

Love Technology - It is an Organizational Marvel

Years ago I kept a day planner. One of those fancy loose-leaf books with a calendar, to do list, planning sheets and a section for contacts. I liked my day planner. Each morning I would review my calendar and to do list to see what was going on that day. Each afternoon I would carefully move items from one day to another according to the day's events. At the end of each year, I travelled to the planning store and looked at the planning and calendar pages and carefully chose the appropriate…

Love Taking Action, Because Faith Without Work is Dead

It is magnificent to fall in love with taking action because faith without work is dead.

I am part of a few accountability circles. One I formed with two women after a conference last October. We had some starts and stops and we are still working our way through how to make the group work, but we are working it out. I have another accountability group formed with two business partners. We are informal in our interaction, but we hold each other accountable and provide each other with…

Fall in Love with Work - It Makes Home Possible

It is fantastic to love work because it makes good things at home possible.
For many people going to work is a chore, something they do because they must, something they hate. As a result, these people start the day with a bad attitude toward work and continue with a bad attitude throughout the day. Imagine what would happen if instead those people started the day with a good attitude and continued it throughout the day. Instead of hating work and dreading the approach of each…

Fall in Love with Your Job Because Paychecks are Nice

Each workday, people all over America wake up, shower, dress and go off to work. Many of those people are not happy about having to go to work each day. Some of them even curse the fact that they must go to work. I am proposing that instead of hate, those people start looking at their jobs with a loving attitude.  Think about it. When a person is in love, the person is kind, considerate and speaks with a kind voice. When a person is in love, she does not insult the object of her love. A…

Stop Procrastination - Take Action Now and Succeed

People tend to like to plan, to create plans to design solutions to problems and situations. I have a friend who has been planning a business for the entire ten years that I know her. She has notebooks full of plans and designs. When she fills up one notebook she copies the most important or best plans into a new notebook and plans some more. When computers and laptops became commodity priced items, she began to copy her notebooks into computer files. On the computer she would search the…

Love - Satisfying Work and a Good Family

Readers of a certain age will remember the movie Mahogany  starring Diana Ross and Billie Dee Williams. There was a great line in the movie where Billie Dee's character told Diana Ross' character that all her success at work meant nothing if she had no one at home with whom to share it. For me, having a loving, caring family at home to share my successes and accomplishments is more valuable than the accomplishments and successes.

I like to call myself a Proverbs Wife.…

New Idea for Work - Keep Your Job Off Social Media

It is wonderful to keep your job by remembering to keep use social media like a responsible adult.

It seems that almost every day there are new laws being passed all over the country concerning the activities of workers on social media both inside and outside the workplace. I am located in Pennsylvania where you can be fired for good reason, bad reason or no reason at all if you have no employment contract and you are not being fired for a reason that is against public policy. For…
