Kid-Proof your Computer/Tablet/Phone - Zoodles.com Review

With so many awesome "educational" (or so I tell myself) games available on the computer and in the form of phone apps, how do you monitor access to it all for your kids?

Although it may not be entirely true, I find that I tell myself that these options are "better" than a video when I need to get…

How to Teach Your Kids Manners - Book Review: "Manners Can Be Fun", Munro Leaf

I find myself saying, "Kids don't respect adults these days like we did" all the time, but also acknowledge that I don't want to raise my kids the same authoritative way I was raised... We put a lot of work into emotion coaching in our house, yet it still feels frustrating when our little people can't seem to grasp the most basic of manners (thank you, don't interrupt, etc...).  I hate feeling like a nag or disapproving, but think it is definitely my role to teach…

How to Pair Wine with Junk Food

As a mom of two-within-two-years, I’ve had many learning opportunities to refine my coping skills.  While this category of behavior includes healthy activities like working out or meditation, I tend to defer to other ones such as wine, junk food, and mindless television.  The truth of the matter is that I have…

3 Shortcuts to a Cleaner *Looking* House in 30 Minutes

The days of being able to devote an undisturbed chunk of time to creating a spotless house are long gone.  Some days, I feel like I have to offer up a Disney movie in exchange for the luxury of unloading the dishwasher without interruption.  Everything just takes so much more effort and time.  Tired of feeling…

Free Personalized Messages from Santa - Keep the Magic Alive :)

If you’re anything like me, you’re pushing the “Santa’s watching!!” line pretty hard these days. I know it’s not right to market Father Christmas as an Eye-In-The-Sky Tattler who punishes by withholding My Little Ponies and Cars, but the kids do seem to care about what he thinks, and it’s mighty hard to not exploit that…

Teaching Your Kids How to Be Thankful

This time of the year, I always feel that it is a struggle to keep the focus on families and counting our blessings (opposed to what we want on our Xmas lists, who we're hosting for dinner,etc...)

Store KidArt Smarter! Kidfolio Review

Tired of having glitter, pom poms, and wrinkled up paintings scattered everywhere?! At the risk of sounding a little less than sentimental, I can barely keep up with the massive influx of KidArt from preschool, which sent me searching for storage solutions. I found one that was basic, but brilliant. Oh, and cheap - a total bonus. :)
