Home alone - me

Talk about the universe giving me what I wanted. For the past 6 ½ years I would have done just about anything to have some time at home alone. I don’t even mean time to get out of the house without any kids, I mean at home. Just to be in the house alone. If I was without the kids I was either at work or running errands, I was able to get away a bit, but never be at home alone. Never have peace and quiet at my own house. I wanted it so badly.

When I quit my job in Jan of 2008 I still… Continue

Time to organize?

Here’s a funny thing, when I worked I was more organized. I was a working Mom for over 6 years and have been a stay at home Mom for only 10 months. Now that I’m home and have more time I’m less organized and more last minute. It drives me nuts. When I worked I had no choice, I had to be organized or everything fell apart. Now, if I’m not organized I’ll just fix it tomorrow, ‘cause I’ll be here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I’m not busy now, it’s just a less structured busy, so if I need… Continue

Alarm or not to Alarm?

I started setting an alarm clock for my 1st grader and it was working like a charm. If we set out her clothes the night before she would wake to the music, put her clothes on and come down for breakfast. Could I ask for more at 7:15 AM?

Before the alarm clock it was about 5 minutes of me rubbing her back and talking to her to try to get her to wake up, and not be a total grump. She‘s just not a morning person. I’m sure she’ll do great in college when she wants to stay up until 2 AM.… Continue

The Tooth Fairy... Ooops!

The tooth fairy… ooops!

** I’ll start with a disclaimer that you shouldn’t read this one with your little ones around, especially if they can read. I reveal a deep dark secret about the tooth fairy. **

Morgan, my oldest, lost her 3rd tooth last week and can you even believe the tooth fairy screwed up? I mean I was as shocked as you are. It just doesn’t seem like someone like the tooth fairy would be less than perfect. Alas, she is.

With dreams of cash in her… Continue

An update on Kramer

On Saturday my husband came downstairs and found Kramer, our dog. He had passed away during the night. Kramer had sort of been in Hospice in the kitchen. He had gotten to the point where he really couldn’t walk; in fact he couldn’t really stand much that last day. So I would carry him outside, which wasn’t an easy task being that he weighed over 55 lb. But, 3 or 4 times a day I would carry him outside.

We all tried to get him to eat and drink. I would feed him anything he would eat.… Continue

The beginning or is it the end?

My 9 month adventure

It’s not what you think.

I hate to start towards the end, but that’s what I’m gonna do, ‘cause that’s where I am

I have this dog that I love dearly, he’s been around for 12 ½ years and we’ve been through so much together. My husband and I got him just a few months after we got married. We named him Kramer after the Seinfeld character. His hair was cut crooked on the top and he would slide around all the time. It was hysterical and he… Continue

Has Blogging Become One Big Chore?

How to Get Your Kids to the Dentist Without Tears, Tantrums or Throwing

Growing up, you might remember a time in your life when the only thing scarier than the boogeyman was your dentist. Over the years, you grew to appreciate your dentist and his or her service to your dental health, however, it did take you some time to grow into that mentality. Give your kids a…
