Safety Tips to Prevent Your Dream Pool from Becoming a Nightmare

Whether it’s a cosy hot tub, a full-sized pool or something in between, having a private place to take a dip at home is one of life’s greatest luxuries. There is little that compares to shrugging off the day’s troubles with a few relaxing laps or a good book and the gentle massage of…

What Not To Do When You Are About To Explode

We've all had those times in our Mommyland lives when we feel we are about to lose the plot. My last experience of this was during Spring Break when I decided to take Mirabelle to story time at the library. All went well until story time started, which is when all the children stood up to dance and sing. Mirabelle wanted me to stand up too, but they always ask the Moms to stay sitting on… Continue

What A Difference A Day Makes (Or Even Better Four)

We've all seen those TV adverts where Dad arrives home from work and the children run to the door to meet him, pure delight shining in their eyes, so happy are they to see him. The Things I Wish I Knew When I Became a Mom

Also that it would take 20 minutes to talk said 2 year old through reversing the process and unlocking the door (accompanied with lots of tears and cries of "I can't do it!")… Continue

If the Magic Fairy Came to Visit me in Mommyland

My makeup bag contains one very old tube of foundation (because I only wear makeup on the rare occasions when my husband and I go out for dinner) and a few other dried up objects. I resorted to cutting my own hair when Mirabelle was a baby (because it just seemed easier than trying to work out a time when I could go to a hair salon, given she was BF and refused…

Momnesia a Myth?!?

The British Journal of Psychiatry has published the findings of a new research study from the Australian National University. After studying 1,241 women, scientists concluded that women's memories remained as good during and after pregnancy as before. Prof Helen Christensen who led the study said "women need to be less automatic in their willingness to attribute common memory lapses to a… Continue
