More Thoughts on Breast is Best: Guilt-led breastfeeding





As a vocal breastfeeding advocate, a sex educator and a supporter of survivors of sexual abuse during their childbearing year I have ask myself many times about the validity of “pushing” bf’ing. Yes, breastmilk is best, but if we guilt woman into breastfeeding aren’t we hurting the cause?

The Breast is Best Campaign in Nova Scotia- Is It Working?

I used to believe that breast is always best. I gave the stink eye to bottlefeeding moms, I towed the Breast is Best partyline.

I was wrong.

I passionately believe that breastmilk is the optimal food for your baby. That part is based on science and economics, not opinion. But is feeding your babe at the breast really best for every woman?
