I admit I am a bit of a worry wart. Sometimes I sweat the small stuff. I can’t help myself but agonize over details. But nothing makes me more anxious than traveling with my 3 kids, aged 8 and 4 year old twins. Especially traveling 18 hours halfway across the globe!

As I sit here reading back my earlier post, I had a sudden urge to expand on the subject of visualization exercises and my personal experience with it.
When I started this blog I made a deal with myself to keep it authentic and relevant. My goal was to write about subject matters that inspired or moved me, and had relevance in the world as we know it today.
But I also pledged not to…Continue

This winter has been fraught with bouts of 18-in piles of snow and arctic temperatures not only in my neck of the woods but in other parts of the country as well.
When it seemed unbearable and SAD (seasonal affective disorder) was knocking on my door, I set forth in motion a series of visualization exercises that would help me cope with the winter doldrums. I began writing a series of articles on warm weather destinations to give me something to look forward to. After all, depression…Continue

Today I have to unleash my inner bee-yatch to gripe about a show I’ve been raving about to friends and family.
I share with you an open letter to the writer, director, star of the HBOseries, Girls.
Dear Ms. @Lena Dunham,
I have been a big fan of your work since your show’s freshman season. I love…Continue

One of the pitfalls of being a stay-at-home mom is the feeling of disconnect with the outside world. When your main conversations are between you and your 8 y.o. and 3 1/2 y.o. twins, 24/7, 365 days, your world becomes really tiny and insular. You begin to live in a bubble. Especially during the winter months when leaving the house (except for the occasional Target run, and picking up your second grader from school) is usually not an option. Its not an option especially when there’s been a…Continue

Its 25 degrees out tonight and just five minutes outside will make your nose and fingers feel like frozen popsicles if you’re not appropriately garbed.
Which is why my recent series of posts/articles on warm weather destinations, an ongoing visualization exercise I’m practicing right now is getting me really stoked. And yes, I had to borrow a 90′s term to label this feeling of anticipation and excitement I’m experiencing.
Because I just dated myself by using a 90′s term, my…Continue

SUNLOVERS HAVEN # 3 SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS
I love SouthPadre Island for many reasons. One is the proximity to my husband’s family.( I’m blessed to have the nicest, most loving and caring in-laws). Although my in-laws are native New Yorkers, they retired to South Texas in the mid-80′s and have called it home since.
But family aside, South Padre Island is definitely the gem of the state of Texas. Situated in the tropical tip of Texas, SPI is bordered by the…Continue
