I love to drive.  I love to drive over  the speed limit, not under the posted limit.  I am the one in the left hand lane going at least five over, if not a little faster.  I do NOT like going slow.  I am not in a hurry to get anywhere (unless I have to use the potty), I just  love driving the way the car is supposed to be driven.  I have a 5 speed because an automatic just isn't driving.  A standard shift is, to me, the only way to go.  I also have my car lowered.  It handles better…

Oh, this can't be happening!

It is late Saturday morning and I am still in my jammies.  So is my son.  This is how we do it on Saturdays.  This is how we roll.  He is busy playing a video game and I am doing the chores around the house ... dishes, laundry, garbage, etc.

Now, when I take out the garbage, the can is right beside the back deck.  The can being right beside the deck makes it easy, especially in the bad weather.  The thing is though, you have to shut the back door completely.   You…

I swear that I am actually going to have a heat stroke from these hot flashes!  I am burning from the top of my head to the tips of my toes.  I know what to expect and what is happening but I am not liking it at all.  I am not finding anything good about starting menopause.  So far, the hot flashes or as I prefer to call them "Power Surges", are the main symptom that I am experiencing.  Well and maybe the mood swings.  I am about ready to just raise my fist and yell Bring it On!! I…

My Great Big Bad ....

I don't usually do it ... go out on Black Friday.  We did this year, not for the sales and not before dawn.  No, that is not us.  I don't have the patience for the pushing and the shoving.  Large crowds like that make me very nervous.  Nope not for me.  However, we did go out at mid-morning ... here is our adventure.  Just click on the link to share it with us.  …

My Marine

As I was driving home from work today, listening to one of my cd's, one of the songs, Place to Fall by Emphatic struck me.  It reminded me of the one person in my life that is life itself.

What do you call a man who is more than a hero?  The man who is everyday and extraordinary?  How do you describe the man that is indescribable?  Let me tell you a few things about this man and you tell me.

Veteran's Day

Since this is Veterans Day, I am from a family of veterans and married to a Marine, this day holds special meaning.  I have never taken for granted the sacrifices our military members have made for everything I hold dear as an American.  All of my family members that are veterans are my heroes, as are all veterans, but they do hold a special place in my heart.  I have written a blog post about one special veteran this week in honor of Veterans Day.  He was an amazing man.  I hope you will…

Time changes and tournaments

Has anyone else, besides my husband, had trouble adjusting to the time change?  He keeps waking up an hour before the alarm goes off.  I get up at 3am .... I have been doing ok.  The worst though is the dogs.  They can't seem to get adjusted.  Feeding and walking schedules are messed up.  Poor things.  I am trying to ease them into the new time, but it is slow going.  I have a new post on my blog, please stop by and read it.  Thank you so very much.…

OH ... NO!

It is official ... I have turned into my mother.

I sat here at the kitchen table with my son telling him to chew with his mouth closed.   I was going on and on about manners.  Don't get me wrong, manners are important and overlooked way too much.

I sounded just like she did when I was that age.  It was scary.  I would see signs in the past couple of years.  I would just console myself saying that it was just this once, it will never happen again.  I  can't overlook or…
