I Don't Get Facebook!

Am I the only one who doesn’t want 300 “friends” on Facebook? Am I the only one with a cell phone that doesn’t have a camera? Am I the only one with no interest in texting? The latest and greatest for a lot of other moms I know is being on Facebook, everyone declares to be addicted to it—I have to admit, I don’t get it.

I finally decided to sign up with Facebook and Twitter about two weeks ago, since I understand that as a blogger you “have” to be on them, it is one way how people… Continue

We got a package two days ago that Landon (and I!) could not wait to open. We received two soft plush toys from the My Natural Toy line. They are made by Hosung, the makers of miYim Organic toys, a Brooklyn-based company that created these and many other cute, cuddly characters out of organic, environmentally friendly materials.

My Husband got Hooked on "The Bachelor"!

Guess who could not get enough of The Bachelor this morning? My husband, dear Don, who criticizes me so much for liking some reality TV shows like John and Kate Plus 8 and The Bachelor! I started watching the episode that aired last night after I noticed that my DVR had recorded it. I had not seen the show before that, the one where Jason had made his choice between Molly and Melissa, so I was getting… Continue

Find Your Passion - And Pursue it!

I just came back from “Mom’s’ Night Out – Women Who Make a Difference,” an event organized by Beth Feldman from rolemommy.com. It was wonderfully inspiring to hear Lee Woodruff talk about her journey after her husband Bob suffered a brain injury in Iraq, Alison Tepper Singer’s advocacy for autism that grew out of her daughter being diagnoses as autistic, and Lauren Candela-Katz’s involvement in fundraising. All of them, including Beth, stressed that they are doing what they are passionate… Continue

Forced to Take a Break From Breastfeeding...

I haven’t breastfed Landon in days. I finally had to take antibiotics for the mystery virus I have been having for two weeks, and it seems that because of the virus or the antibiotics my skin is more sensitive. I got three deep cuts on the base of my nipples from letting Landon still nurse, and at some point last week I started crying when he nursed, it was so incredibly painful. That was it for me; I had reached the breaking point and decided that I have to stop nursing him until those wounds… Continue
