And so our story begins. Once upon a time there was a lowly food blogger looking for ideas on what to make for dinner. She searched high and low in books and on cooking blogs but just couldn't seem to find the right dish for her family.
The blogger was sheer out of ideas, so she poured herself a Pom and tonic with a twist of lime using the Pom juice she was given from Ryan over at
Pom Wonderful and sat down to ponder her…

My husband is a meat eater. He likes meat in all forms and, to him, a meal just isn't a meal without some form of dead animal, fish, or bird added to it. Case in point; the Nummy Noodle Soup I put up on the blog a couple weeks back. He proceeded to eat all of the soup and it's contents
except for the tofu. Those were left stacked in a neat little pile off to the side as an expression of his love
strong dislike for meatless dishes. Our…

Last weekend Scott headed out of town with our oldest son to participate in a Y Guides camping event. I was left to fend for myself with the two younger guys, so we made the decision to head out to the
Windy Hill Apple Orchard and make a day of it.…

Ok guys, I've been really nervous to put this up here because it's pretty rough and just starting out. I think it has potential though, so I'm going to brave it and you'll hopefully give me some feedback to help make it better. I've read and been told that thinking outside the box (or outside the house as the case may be) is better when it comes to a gingerbread competition so I attempted to branch out a bit (no pun intended) and try something a little different. I hunted around the internet…

I promised part two of the mushroom madness and I plan to jump in head first in a quick minute, but before we get entranced with the deliciousness of this soup, I need to share that you, my awesome blog readers and supporters, all voted an
awesome total of 155 times which means $155 was donated to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation! It made my day to donate that money on behalf of not just me, but of all my readers as well.
Here is the letter I was…

Before I get started on the post today, I just wanted to remind everyone that voting is still going on through midnight tonight for the Pacific Everyday Food competition. I don't think I'll be heading to Napa, but I will be giving an AWESOME donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. So hop on over, vote one last time, and let's see if we can get the donation to $200! You can find the link to donate back on Friday's post…

Ok, so I know you're probably wondering what the heck that vote request is that I've dropped on the top of today's page for all to see. Remember my chicken and asparagus dish that I posted a month or two back? Well I took that tasty little dish and entered it into a contest for Pacific Foods and low and behold it advanced to the final…

What's your favorite part about the autumn season? Is it the cooler weather? The beautiful leaves? Maybe it's Halloween or Thanksgiving that tickles your fancy. I know for my husband it's the return of his beloved college football team, the VT Hokies. For me it's all of the above (except swap out bucky badger for the maroon and orange turkey).
I didn't always love the fall. Growing up in Wisconsin, summer took the cake. I had off from school, I could go to bed late, and I spent my…

Do you ever have one of those days? You know the one; you wake up late, rush around to get everyone ready for school, forget to eat breakfast yourself, get everyone strapped into their car seats, go back in to the house to grab the keys….. only they’re nowhere to be found. So, trying not to panic you start slowly looking around the
house in all the hiding spots that come to mind. When no keys turn up and you’re now officially going to be late to school drop off, you begin to…

When
Anne asked me if I'd guest blog for her I didn't even have to stop and
think about it. My immediate response was absolutely! I fell in love
with Anne's blog from the moment I stumbled upon it. Her recipes are
always delicious, creative and easy enough for even beginner cooks to
assemble and enjoy. And then there's Anne. She's witty, smart, fun and
one of the nicest people you'll have the pleasure of meeting. I love
that… Continue

First up, a special thanks again to Anne for sharing her space with me yesterday. Let's here it for Anne of Annie Bakes!
Second up, because we had a few issues with pictures yesterday over on
Anne's site, I've gone ahead and published the complete recipe over here
as well. You can find it directly before today's post. Hopefully that
